In Good Taste: Shelley Johnstone Design

After weeks of high sixties and mid-seventies temperatures here, it has finally gotten cold. We’ll never quite understand North Carolina weather, how it is seventy-five and then, all of a sudden, with no warning, you wake up and it’s thirty-two and it stays that way for months. But, it actually makes us kind of excited, the cold weather. 

Because, when it turns cold, that means it’s here! The most wonderful time of the year!

The time for staying close to home, for cuddling up by the fire.

The time for drawing near to the ones you love most, for celebrating all of the great things that life has to offer. 

With Christmas just a few weeks away, we thought it was a great time to celebrate the good taste of Shelley Johnstone Design, and focus on the stunning color palettes of these fabulous homes that, to us, are so well suited for the holidays.

This living room is perfect for gathering and talking after a delicious turkey lunch or dinner.

And we can just see a giant Frasier Fir gracing this luxurious living room. With the fireplace roaring, we can’t think of a better spot for opening presents.

This is an island made for hot chocolate and baking cookies.

Rich and layered and luxurious with the right touches of casual to make it feel like home… We’re kind of obsessed with this space!

On New Year’s Eve, why not just have a few party guests stay over? With a bedroom this luxe everyone will be fighting for their spot!
