The Best of 2012

Maybe we’re a week late, but we thought we’d take a moment to revisit some of our most-pinned Pinterest images from 2012. If they were great once, we thought it might be fun to see them all in the same place, all over again! We hope you enjoy!
Fittingly, some of our most popular pictures of 2012, were on white clapboard houses in the year when we bought our own white clapboard house in Beaufort!

Along that same vein, all of you were just as taken as we were with these adorable cozy cottages. It’s like Hansel and Gretel — without the witch.

It’s no surprise that burlap drapes were a hit. Doesn’t this look like the most inviting spot to get a little work done?

A perfect spread for a perfect meal. The botanical prints are the icing on the cake!

Who wouldn’t love a clean and simple butler’s pantry like this one?
Or a sparkling, elegant butler’s pantry like this?

Hands down, these out-of-this-world farmhouse sinks were a Design Chic favorite of 2012.
A farmhouse sink is so incredibly charming!

Eat-in kitchens are a great way for the family to get together.
We love the jar of starfish on the table in this eat-in kitchen.
A beautiful coffered ceiling makes such a statement!
The detail in this coffered ceiling is amazing!
We don’t know if our laundry rooms could EVER be this organized… But we’re working on it!
Historic shore decor can take many different forms.
We just love them all!
We hope our new living room feels a little something like this!
We think Joy Tribout has great taste and all of you agreed!
There’s no better way to spend a day than with a little beach house dreaming
So, there it is, the year’s most-pinned pictures in a nutshell. If you’re new to the blog, that was sort of like watching the highlight reel from the past season. Thanks to all our readers, old and new, for making 2012 so much fun. We hope that 2013 will be just as beautiful!

Things We Love: Butler’s Pantries

So we may not have a butler…

But that doesn’t mean we can’t appreciate the extra storage and entertaining prep offered by a butler’s pantry.

If it’s as gorgeous as some of these, that’s just an added bonus.

Forget entertainment prep. Some of these spaces are so great we might want to entertain in them altogether.
The Enchanted Home
The inspiration for this post was the gorgeous butler’s pantry in Tina’s house from The Enchanted Home. The combination of light and dark is beautiful, and we can’t get over the floors.
Isn’t is just perfection? We aren’t surprised, of course. Tina’s home is ah-ma-zing from top to bottom!!

Thanks for the idea, Tina and for opening your home to us!
We hope all of you have a wonderful day!

In Good Taste: Joy Tribout

Today we wanted to talk about the good taste of designer Joy Tribout. We hope you enjoy her beautiful sense of style as much as we did!
A ship chandelier? We don’t think we’ve ever seen that before. This is such a fun space for kids but also refined enough for adults. Perfect for a vacation home!
This mirror is amazing, and the julep cup filled with white roses is such a subtle, welcoming touch.
We don’t know where Joy finds these fabulous light fixtures, but she certainly doesn’t disappoint, does she? We absolutely adore an uber-masculine room.

One of our favorite things about Ms. Tribout is her ability to add a little something extra to every room. The detail on these slipcovers takes them to the next level.
The varied textures of the neutrals in this room make them anything but boring.

A hint of animal print is always fun. These leather benches are beautiful.
Silver makes everything more elegant!
The contrast of the masculine antlers with the feminine table and accessories is wonderful. A little something for everyone!
