My grandmother often reminisces about the days when each season you bought a new outfit complete with a fabulous bag, shoes and, of course, hat. We’re jealous. Except, of course, if we’re attending a horse race in which case we would get to buy a new hat too. But how often are you really going to a horse race?

A hat is totally acceptable on a boat, of course, but it’s usually a touch too windy.

So, we feel like the beach is one of the only places we can really rock an oversized brim.

I love hats but they dont’ love me, I don’t like the way I look in them (except a baseball cap on the soccer fields)! But they are so pretty and stylish.
When I went to the Kentucky Derby I promised myself I would wear more hats. I only have one, but it’s really cute..think I might wear it this very day!

I think over sized hats (or hats of any size for that matter…fascinators, anyone?) are acceptable just about any time, any where. Accept maybe on a crowded metro. You might get some death stares.
Love the images!! I use to enjoy wearing hats. The older I have gotten the less I wear them, they just don’t look as good. Oh the joys of youth!!lol

I love this post! My friends and I attend the races several times each year and it’s all about the hats! But sometimes I wish I could post a sign on the gate that said “Ladies, a skimpy nightclub dress and a feather in your hair is not races attire”. Standards please!
