Phoebe Howard I’m partial to white, off-white or distressed finishes, myself. |

Massucco, Miller and Warner I love a dark piece to anchor a room, but, when it comes to these chairs, I think the roundness of the spools calls for the softness of the lighter shades. |

Mom is more a fan of the darker shades.

VT Interiors That is a shocking revelation as I truly believe she would live in a house of all gleaming, shiny white if possible. |

I’ll have to admit that it does work well with a darker patterned fabric…

Caitlin Creer Interiors But, ahhhh, aren’t those just stunning? |

Christina Murphy Design No matter what the color, we both agree that we love the style of these unique chairs. |

What do you think about this look? Is it timeless or a passing trend?

Funny I have seen them, never knew what they were called and now am convinced Iove them after seeing so many gorgeous examples! Nice to know……
I have to say I thought I like the Pheobe Howard designs best until I saw the one by Christina Murphy. That room is so clean and crisp looking.
I actually think they have a fairly classic look about them! I really like them ๐

Hi
Beautiful chairs! I think I agree with your mother, I like the darker shades myself. It just pops.

Oh, I’ve loved them, just didn’t know what they were called. Beautiful collection!
Oh, these chairs have been a true favorite of mine for as long as I can remember! I’m looking at carrying a few in my shop to mix in with the antiques and I can’t wait for them to arrive! This post just reaffirmed that it was a good decision! Thanks for sharing these gorgeous pics!
Love them in both dark and light hues. I think they may be enjoying a moment in the spotlight, but they have the staying power of any classic. Happy Tuesday!
I really love the chairs-the shape really adds a special detail to the rooms–thanks for all the wonderful examples!! Leslie
Oh they are lovely. I can’t make up my mind which color I prefer. I love black and white so to pick a favorite is very hard. The black ones would be great in a sophisticated room and the white in a feminine setting.. I would love both…I wish my bath was large enough..great spot for one.
I like the contrast of a dark frame with light cushions….beautiful!
I LOVE every images. I have had my eyes on these chairs for several years now. I agree that the cream painted chairs are a show stopper!
Happy Tuesday.

My parents gave me a bobbin chair which looks a little dated, but I got some good ideas here to paint it and reupholster it and give it new life. Glad I saw this post.
What a gorgeous, elegant interior (top photo)!

This is one of my favorite chairs. I would take one in any color.
I never knew what they were called. I do like them in both light and dark actually.
I think it looks timeless, and like most things, I like them either totally white, or black. Love these chairs!
I def like the lighter versions…classic. xx
oh yes!
particularly love the examples in off white!

I love bobbin chairs and in my opinion, they are timeless, but have to go with Mom-much prefer them in the darker shades.
My favourite; a black bobbin with red & white stripe fabric-love!
I have been in love with the bobbin chair ever since one of my favorite showrooms in the Dallas Market had
a pair of them this past market in January…
Going to market tomorrow and can’t wait to see all
the new goodies… I love both the dark and light finishes. Guess it depends on what room you are doing at the time.
Love that style chair ! A stand out amoung so many boring chairs.

I feel silly, but I didn’t know what these chairs were ๐ The Caitlin Creer Interiors chair is gorgeous! Thanks for the intro!

I so love these chairs, but can’t find them anywhere in AUstralia. These are wonderful images too, all into the inspiration folder.
I’m always learning something new on your lovely blog! I didn’t know what these chairs were before, they’re sweet!
Thank you for your lovely sweet comment about my baby news, just over halfway there and getting more excited every day! ๐

These are beautiful chairs! I love the dark wood tones best, but the light finishes are still just as beautiful!

Love this! I have always adored these. My husband’s grandmother in Kentucky has a spindle four poster bed in one of her guest rooms and I have always coveted it. Especially love them painted white.

I never knew what these were called, like Tina, but LOVE them! Thanks for the education ๐
