She, like I, spent about half her childhood at Home Depot with her mother in the midst of one renovation or another.
Her gorgeous home is not only full of decorating ideas but shows the mark of an interior designer who’s truly an artist.
Everything in the Union Square apartment reflects her idea that, “If you buy something you love there’s always a place for it.” We completely, completely agree. And we love that tortoise shell.
Smith’s love of neutrals both in her wardrobe and interiors is something we totally relate to. The light grays and shades of white, touches of color here and there. It’s the kind of place that you know you’ll love for years to come.
The Studio MRS founder said one of her favorite things to do in this living room is curl up with a cup of coffee and a stack of design magazines. (We love that she still rips the pages — so do we. We’re crazy for Pinterest but it will never replace our clippings!)
Smith said the light in this apartment makes you feel like you’re outside on a beautiful day and that she loves opening the windows. No matter where you are, the light can completely make a space.
The antiquing on this mirror caught our eye right away. And this bed is stunning.
The bathroom is so classic.
It’s the perfect blend of updated and timeless.
This bedding is so beautiful. Such a unique night table!
Touches of wood and bamboo and a glimpse of these lovely floors help pull the design scheme together.
There’s nothing like carrera in the kitchen. It’s seamless and stunning, always the perfect touch.
The vintage touches in this kitchen add so much character.
Even in a New York apartment, it’s always nice to have a touch of farmhouse chic. This table is the perfect hint of rustic charm for a beautiful home.
We have just loved stepping inside Michelle Smith’s amazing home today and hope you have too. Thanks so much for inviting us into your home today!
Please bear with us as we continue our blog work. The download is a little slow, but we hope to be back up to speed by the end of the week !
