If you follow us, you know that we think lighting, like the right paint color or art, plays one of the most essential roles in in interior decorating.
Chandeliers are lovely and flushmounts are fine, but, for a casual, classic look, we’re loving lanterns.
We often think of lanterns as more of an outdoor item, something used to flank the front door and light your path.
But, looking at these gorgeous photos, it’s clear that, from the kitchen to the dining room and everywhere in between, there isn’t a place that a lantern isn’t just right.
If you think lanterns are always subdued, think again! We adore this neon! (And, when the trend is over, you could probably paint them a different color…)
These fixtures, a twist on a classic lantern, are just the right complement for the gorgeous wood in this Minnie Peters-designed kitchen. (And the gorgeous everything else!)
A lantern is the perfect piece in this space that seems to bridge the gap between indoors and out.
The green glass in this lovely light adds a little extra interest.
The extra detail on this lantern really makes it pop!
We adore brass lanterns, even after they have turned that pretty patina, but, to keep one looking fresh and polished, using it indoors is a great idea!
These fixtures are just the right tone to go along with the antiques in the home.
A pair of lanterns isn’t just for the front door! They are a great way to light a hallway, as well. What do you think about using lanterns indoors? We’d love to know!
Wishing you a wonderful day! Thanks so much for visiting us!
