Good morning friends! You know how we always love getting your emails and doing posts for you.
So we were so excited when our good friend (and fab blogger and artist!) Kendall Boggs emailed us about replacing her fluorescent light box in her kitchen.
She is looking for something beautiful and simple to hang over her kitchen island. And you all know for the ultimate combination of simplicity and style, we’re pretty big fans of lanterns. (And flowers… 🙂 )
The wood ceiling in this kitchen is so beautiful. And a simple hanging light is the perfect complement.
This single sphere is elegant — and we love that paint color!
Fun and funky lights add so much personality to a space.
And simple glass pendants are a classic style that is chic without drawing too much attention to itself.
Glass front cabinets and cool glass pendants are a fabulous combination.
And we always love the sleek look of stainless in a kitchen.
A fabulous brass piece adds that aged, antique look. (Along with those amazing wood herringbone floors!)
But, then again, especially in combination with a cool ceiling like these wood beams, sometimes simple and hidden is the way to go.
Especially in a small kitchen, where a hanging fixture might feel too overwhelming, a simple recessed light might be just right.
Or in a kitchen where so many elements sing, sometimes a fixture isn’t really necessary. Kendall, we know with your amazing eye, you will choose just the right thing. And we hope these help!
What’s your favorite lighting look for a kitchen?
We hope all of you have a fabulous day!
