Welcome to week 2 of the One-Room Challenge! A.K.A Demo, sawdust up to your ears, and, ultimately, a big sigh of linoleum-free relief! Here’ s a recap of the “before” of our stunner of a kitchen and Week ONE if you missed it.

And… Yay! Demo and subfloor! It’s actually kind of shocking how quick it was to completely take this place apart. A bunch of men, a bunch of hammers, and the job gets done!

Let there be light! This dark, musty, windowless space is looking so much brighter and cheerier! And we’re loving the new floors! Now we just have to pick a color to stain them… It’s always something, isn’t it?!

A little reminder of our pretty laundry room…

Free of its clutter…

And, voila! Windows, floors and no doorway! It’s looking like one, great, cohesive space now. We can just taste those chaise lounges on either side of that window…

Arteriors Pendant

We’re having a serious pendant dilemma now. Do we go stainless and industrial like the appliances will be?

Goodman Hanging Pendant

Or do we keep things soft with a pretty gold and white pendant, since gold and white are mainstays of the rest of the house?

Bobo Intriguing Objects

Or do we do a little combination? Silver and industrial with touches of brass? What do y’all think? Thanks so much for checking up on us. We’re crossing our fingers for great progress to show you next week!

Make sure you check out the other fabulous One Room Challenge participants. We can’t wait to see what they’ve done this week!
