Happy Wednesday, friends! And welcome to week three of the One Room Challenge, started by Linda of Calling it Home! We realized that last week we forgot to show you the brand new, sparkling clean ceilings of our kitchen renovation. Aren’t they pretty?

This week, our molding and window molding are in place, and we’re testing baseboards! What do you think?

The molding has been primed and we’re feeling pretty committed to those baseboards, much to little Will’s chagrin. They’re pretty fun to play with when you can push them down and walk on them like a balance beam.

And finally,  the stained floors – we love the color!  After trying so many different combinations, we decided on this one to give a casual, beachy look to the kitchen.

Plain English Design

Here’s the big question: What should the island look like? Legs? No legs? Marble? Butcher’s block?

Papyrus Home Design

Who knew there could be so many questions about one little piece of furniture? Whatever we decide, we know we want to have stools underneath! A breakfast bar is the best.

Crystal Knob

Lastly, we’re trying to decide which kind of pulls to use on the cabinets. I’m a big fan of crystal knobs. I think they’re simple and a little bit elegant.

Nickel Knob

But nickel knobs are timeless and classic and lend that casual feel to a kitchen.

Polished Nickel Pull

Nickel pulls are great for drawers,

And bar pulls like these seem to be everywhere right now. We like the modern look of these! Week three is a wrap, and we’re getting excited about all of the progress we’ve made so far. We hope next week to have an island to show you. And maybe even a bar pull choice! Thanks for stopping by today and don’t forget to check out our fellow One Room Challenge participants!
