What’s on your vanity? It’s a question that the lovely Sarah from 702 Park Project posed to us. And one that we were happy to answer! This is my sort of all-purpose getting ready area in my room in Beaufort. And, as you can see, it’s pretty sparse. That shell box is HUGE, and it’s perfect for tucking my essentials right inside of. We keep it simple down there, so a little swipe of Bare Minerals and some mascara and I’m out the door — much to the relief of my two Wills who are always ready for the next activity! Keeping the top clean makes it easy for this space to double as my desk. It has a gorgeous view and is always inspiring!
A girl really can’t have too many vanities, though, can she? We’re fully obsessed with this one. And I’m thinking Mom needs this one in her bedroom. Or maybe in the guest room.
The glorious Phoebe Howard taught us (via photos!) that a vanity can double as a fabulous nightstand beside a bed. It’s the perfect multi-purpose way to give your guests a spot to get ready, work and stash their things. And a good way to incorporate a chair in a smaller space.
A vanity in a bathroom, of course, makes a lot of sense. But, sometimes, there simply isn’t enough room for one in there!
But, when there is, it’s wonderful! Don’t you love this abstract art? Such a fantastic juxtaposition with the all-white bath.
The right vanity stool is almost as important as the vanity itself.
My husband’s grandmother had the most perfect vanity stool of all time. Tiny and petite (Just like she was!) with a bit of a back and this sweet little skirt. It was very ladylike. (Again, just like she was!)
My grandmother had a vanity like this one, a beautiful piece of wood furniture. This is maybe one our favorite designs because you can put everything away so effortlessly when you’re finished.
A lady’s vanity always looks even chic with a well-placed flower or two!
A vanity in a closet is also tres chic — if you have the room! Where is your vanity? And what do you have on it?
Thanks so much, Sarah for inviting us to be a part of this great series. We can’t wait to share the rest of our answers in months to come. (May is “what’s on your bookshelf?”. Spoiler alert: Dear Carolina is probably going to be on ours!) Make sure to stop by Sarah’s charming blog, 702 Park Project, if you have a moment today. You’ll be in love with her amazing home restoration!
