Maybe it’s because we’re reading a little Elin Hilderbrand or maybe it’s because we just love the place, but, as you might be able to tell, we’re sort of into Nantucket this week. Since Jennifer Palumbo’s “In Good Taste” yesterday featured a good bit of the island and Victoria Hagan’s Nantucket house was earlier in the week we thought why not continue the theme?
Especially since, as you can see, “Nantucket chic” means many different things to many different designers and families.
And, if you ask us, they’re all quite fabulous!
We are completely enamored of this seaglass blue dining table. It’s a totally modern take on a classic beach staple.
One of our favorite parts about this house is that it combines the best of both worlds, the classic and the contemporary.
The expansive glass and touches of wood paneling lend that traditional shore house feel, while modern furnishings make it feel fresh.
Sleek and stainless in this kitchen pair with lovely seaside touches in this luxe kitchen. That sliding pantry door is amazing! Such a great touch!
This is everything a playroom should be: whimsical, fun and oh so bright!
This room simply exudes personality. Isn’t that painting the best? Everything a day at the beach should be!
This Nantucket cottage offers color in all the right places.
Cheery (and cherry!) pops in this bunk room add coastal appeal in droves.
Window seat are a definite small-space makeover favorite! Storage and cozy seating? The only way it could be better is if it had a bookshelf too!
Where some color is completely welcome, the lack of it, in some cases, is even better! You can’t help but feel calm in this retreat.
Everything in this room is luscious and luxurious but still manages to cede its splendor to the landscape outside the window. In other words, in this Nantucket beauty, everything is exactly as it should be.
