We hope you had an amazing, relaxing weekend and are gearing up for lots of turkey in few days! We know that we are! Until then, we are so thrilled to have our beautiful and talented friend Samantha Penner, author of The Peak of Tres Chic and interior designer with NYC’s Amanda Nesbit, here with us today. We’re always excited to see her take on interiors, fashion and life! If you don’t visit Samantha every day, make sure to bookmark her–right after you take a peek at some of our favorite picks from her portfolio and the gorgeousness she has to share! Thanks so much for being a part of Design Chic, Sam–and for making our days a little more beautiful!

Hi Design Chic readers!  Sam here, from The Peak of Tres Chic, excited to be guest posting.   I have long been a fan of Beth and Kristy’s blog, so getting to pop in here is fun.  I recently came across Pippa Holt’s Dublin home in Moda Familia, and her lively, stylish living room stopped me in my tracks.  Pippa is a contributing editor to British Vogue, and her style is both colorful and chic.  I love the elegant mix in her living room- a crystal chandelier and more modern standing lamps on each side of the sofa give the space a certain eccentricity.  I also love the mix of high and low- from the Hermes blanket and brass plated cocktail table to the durable jute rug.  I found a few pieces from some of my favorite sites that could help you recreate the look:

Dear Carolina

Are you ready for all that awesome holiday shopping? Have you started? Are you finished? Maybe somewhere in between? My mom, the elf, was wrapping up some beautiful Dear Carolinas for some early Christmas shoppers, and we thought Hey, what if we could do this for everyone? So, if you want to get a truly personalized holiday gift, just purchase Dear Carolina at your favorite local bookstore (indies rock!!!), Barnes & Noble, Amazon, Books-A-Million, Powell’s or wherever else you love buying books, email me at kristy @ kristy woodson harvey.com (take the spaces out, of course!), and I’ll send you a personalized bookplate for the person (or people!) of your choice, a gorgeous bookmark and plenty of ribbon to tie up your own copy in style!  The even better part? We’re going to pick one lucky buyer (or sharer!) to win a $250 Amazon gift card to help with the rest of your holiday shopping! We’ll announce the winner December 15, so you’ll have plenty of time to get your goodies. (But Santa will be delivering those signed bookplates on his sleigh all the way up until December 18!)
