Happy first Friday in December, friends! We have a big, huge treat for you today! We know you know Sarah Sarna from her fabulous blog of the same name, and she has taken time out of her very busy schedule to share with us some favorite beautiful blues. Her eye is always spot-on, so we know you’ll want to take a peek. And then, between your many, many holiday obligations, stop by her site to say hi! It’s a little gift you can give yourself!

Hi, everyone! I’m Sarah, the editor of Sarah Sarna, a Washington D.C.–based lifestyle blog featuring fashion, beauty, interior design, and recipes centered around living an inspired life. As a follower of Design Chic long before I started my own online space, I’m so thrilled to be here with you. Thanks so much for having me to your lovely site, Beth and Kristy!

As a guest today in Design Chic’s Friday color series, I immediately knew my choice would be: blue! Blue is my favorite coloration to decorate with because of its expansive range of shades (impossible to even quantify), and because, like the sky, its gradations go with absolutely everything. Here are 15 beautiful tones of blue, with a smashing interior to match each hue.

With a mirrored bar, blue lacquered cabinets, and a striking white-and-blue circle-patterned marble floor—not to mention the chandelier, this pool house by Haynes Roberts could not be chicer.

Deep Prussian blue, a watery blue, and a silvery grey create a subtly moody palette for this modern, sophisticated, and carefully edited living room by David Collins. Rich silk velvet on the long, low-backed sofa, the silk area rug, and silk upholstered slipper chairs provide soft, contrasting textures that add dimension to the space.
