Mom and Dad are keeping cool in beautiful Quebec City, Canada this week, while we’re savoring our last week of summer at the beach. So, yes, it does get a little warm in the Carolinas in August, but we love it all the same. One of our favorite parts, no matter the season, is the beautiful city of Charleston and its corresponding Lowcountry–which is why we were so particularly excited to receive Historic Charleston and the Lowcountry!

Charleston really has it all from shopping to dining to exquisite history that we were thrilled to learn a bit more about through this gorgeous book.

Bright colors and beautiful buildings are one of its crowning glories.

We love so many parts of Charleston, but its Battery, filled with unbelievable homes that each hold a piece of the Holy City’s history, is certainly our favorite place to peruse.

As it is with most notable things, the details are what really make it. And the preservation of those details is one of the focuses of downtown that keep its beauty and charm in tact.

Beautifully maintained landscapes don’t hurt either! They add to the overall lushness and richness of the environment.

Though we love to peruse the outdoor sites of Charleston, the peek at the insides was one of the best treats of this beautiful book. The rare glimpse into some of the country’s most iconic places and spaces is unparalleled.

All of this Charleston talk is getting me excited for my upcoming visits to Charleston as a part of the Lies and Other Acts of Love book tour! If you’ll be in the Charleston area, I’d love to see you!

I am so excited because we have already started planning the Slightly South of Simple book tour for next April and May. We’re going to do something really fun this year in honor of the fact that protagonist Ansley Murphy is an interior designer: a house tour!

If you might be interested in having the Slightly South of Simple tour come to your house (or town!) don’t hesitate to email me at [email protected] for more information!

Happy Monday, friends!
