Setting the table was my first chore.
The plates with the little flowers, cute paper napkins for regular weeknight dinners, the forks and knives and spoons that I’m sure were in the completely wrong spots. (Mom is very precise about these things, so, in retrospect, I’m kind of impressed she could let me do it.)
I’m better at placing the knives and spoons in the right spots now. And setting a beautiful table is one of the most fun things I know of–especially when friends and family are involved.
Tiny touches, like the perfect paper straw, are what setting a great table is all about. We’re busy planning signature cocktails for the Slightly South of Simple book tour and this one is oh so chic!
From gilded settings with an elegant air,
To a stunning setting straight from the garden,
To beautiful menus and place cards that put a table over the top,
To a casual outdoor setting perfect for celebrating all summer long,
The right table setting immediately sets the tone for a memorable evening–and if tiny hands make the silverware a little crooked, all the better.
We are so thrilled by the number of beautiful homes we are going to have as a part of the Slightly South of Simple book tour for next April and May.
