I know it’s not everybody’s favorite day, but I have been a longstanding fan of Tuesdays.

Which I think is a testament to childhood memories as much as anything.

Because, you see, when I was little, I wasn’t allowed to watch TV very often.

But Full House came on on Tuesday nights, and not only was I allowed to watch it (and I LOVED it) but I was also allowed to stay up until 8:30, not 8:00, in order to do so. I know. Big deal. Plus I had spelling homework on Tuesdays, which I absolutely loved. Yes, I am a nerd.

Now I love Tuesdays because Tuesdays mean getting to fall in love with a new designer or architect. And this photo. Because anyone with a pulse has to fall in love with this photo!

Do you spy the baby in the sink? Is that the cutest ever?

In addition to having the good sense to feature beautiful children in her photos, we think Elizabeth Kimberly of Elizabeth Kimberly Design has an innovative and oh-so chic style that brings any home to life.

Because, let’s face it, not everyone could walk into a room like this one and know just how to make it sing. But does it ever!

And, yes, this bathroom is utterly exquisite. But it’s the perfectly choreographed details that make it that way.

Perfect. Like those second grade Tuesday nights. This second day of the week just keeps getting better. We hope your Tuesday is fabulous!

As you have probably heard, Eastern North Carolina, my little corner of the world, was hammered by flooding last week and, though the flood waters are starting to recede, there is plenty of work to do! I’m donating 100% of the profits of the sale of Dear Carolina and Lies and Other Acts of Love between October 15 and November 1 to the amazing Mary’s Kitchen in Kinston, which does the paramount work of feeding the poor all year long and has been invaluable during these trying couple of weeks. They have no administrative costs, are completely volunteer run and all the money goes directly to the mission. (I’m donating for pre-orders of Slightly South of Simple too, but you have to email me at [email protected] to tell me because I don’t have a way to see those sales!) It’s a great way to get a jump on your Christmas shopping–and I’m happy to send you a personalized book plate to the recipient of your choice!
