Good morning, chic readers! We hope you are having a terrific almost-Friday. We are in the mood today to discuss fabulous flooring in all its forms!
From a statement rug to a chic slate, seagrass carpet to sumptuous wool, flooring can instantly affect the feel of a space. I think we can agree this one is luxurious to say the least!
We love all sorts of flooring to bring pizazz to a room, but, right now, we are really into herringbone floors.
A fun twist on an old favorite, herringbone adds interest to the floor without being too busy. By themselves or with a rug over top, they are so chic!
In a single color, they are beautiful, but different stains lend a totally different look.
This washed look in the bathroom contributes to the overall spa-like feel of this stunning bathroom. It is so streamlined and lovely, exactly the kind of place we’d like to start and end our day.

Herringbone does cost more than straight planks–more of a hassle to install and more waste. I wanted to do it in our bedrooms and the cost was double that of straight planks.
And chevron (with the angled points that line up) is even costlier than herringbone.
But it’s gorgeous.
I prefer straight planks in a large space. I think the herringbone is beautiful and can capture the different tones in the woods, but like it in small doses.
I’m a BIG fan of herringbone! I think it’s the epitome of sophistication and it brings a sense of old-world classic design to a room. I did it recently using plank style ceramic tile in the kitchen of one of my fixer-uppers and it was beautiful. Thanks for some wonderful examples of it in some beautiful rooms.

Love the herringbone floors! My floors are hand cut parquet and impossible to match but I love them…
It’s hard to beat herringbone floors paired with a gallery wall! Utter sophistication and makes me think Paris apartment. But a herringbone floor in the kitchen is the ultimate luxury!
