Good morning, design chicers! Do you love an ottoman? We sure do! Especially this time of year when we want to feel cozy and comfortable in our homes, having an ottoman to put our feet up on is a necessity.
They are a great alternative to a hard coffee table with all its angles and points. (Although, don’t get us wrong, we love a good coffee table too!)
The only tricky part about an ottoman is that, sometimes, how to style it is a little less obvious than with a coffee table.
Because ottoman surfaces tend to be smushy and soft, we always like to start with a hard base. A tray is a great option. This orange accent color is a great way to accentuate the pop of color in the room.
Oh my gosh. THESE DOGS! They are so beautiful. The ottoman isn’t bad either! This is a great example of how, when you start with a tray, you can accessorize as usual. We don’t often see a lot of height on an ottoman’s accessories, but we love it when we do!
Of course, the great thing about using an ottoman as a coffee table is that is doesn’t have to have any accessorizing at all. This throw is the perfect accent and brings in that cozy feeling we were talking about earlier.
Accessories can be simple and streamlined…
Or have a little more going on. Books are great options for creating a fun layered look, and we always tend to use a tray shape that is opposite the shape of the ottoman, so a round tray for a rectangular ottoman, a rectangular tray on a round. It helps mix things up a little and adds interest.
We adore the idea of accessorizing with a beautiful game. It’s attractive, fun, and ensures that you’re always ready for family game night!
What is your favorite way to style an ottoman? Looking at these gorgeous photos, we’d say you really can’t go wrong!
