Happy, happy Monday, sweet friends! We hope you are all having a great morning. I turned in the final, final draft of my novel, Dear Carolina, on Friday, so today feels like a good day for a little celebration — and a lot of retail therapy! We thought we’d share a few of our favorite, fabulous pieces from one of our favorite shops, The Highboy, in case you are in need of a little purchase as well!
This is the home of the Douglas Scott and Olga Granda-Scott, the founders of The Highboy.
Their home is a clear expression of their keen eye for fabulous things. Olga is an expert in European art and antiques, following in her father’s footsteps.
It is a scorcher here in NC today, and we have the beach — and beach decor — on the brain! And this kitchen gets things started out right! That is quite the statement piece on the island.
Speaking of statement pieces, we are crazy about Chairish, which is just absolutely full of them. Chairish is a fabulous marketplace where you can buy gorgeous, high-quality pre-owned furniture and accessories — and sell them.
Yup. That’s right. There’s finally a place to sell that storage unit full of that great furniture that you’ve been holding onto because you couldn’t quite part with it, but you knew you’d never get anything for it! (Make sure to scroll down because they’re giving away $100 to one of our lucky readers!!)
All of the pieces are carefully curated, so, if you’re looking for, say, a set of incredible French, cane-back dining chairs to go around your farmhouse table, you know the ones you’re getting are going to be just right!
Underneath a table can just look so… lonely. Not with a great basket like this underneath!
Such a sophisticated spot. Just the right amount of nautical and a hint of glamour.
The wood… The books… The coral… The antique mirrors… Perfection!
This bathroom is just right for a soak after a long, sandy day…
So, we just had to show you a few of our favorite Chairish pieces that would fit perfectly in our beach-loving, day-dreaming state of mind today! Like this incredible abstract piece by artist Lee Reynolds. Amazing over a mantle!!
This is the perfect beach house, linen sofa. Beautiful but just a little bit relaxed.
And, for a pop of color! Aren’t the giraffe pillows to-die for?
But not as to die for as this bar cart. In the spirit of fairness, we’re going to give everyone a couple of hours to decide on this one before we buy it!!
In a bathroom, as a side table or as a porch coffee table, a garden seat (or a pair!) just screams beach style.
What a statement accessory! A must-have for any beach house.
This incredible antique basket is so chic for the end of a bed or under a console table.
The design of this dining table is just too good! We’d pair it with lucite chairs to show off that amazing base.
This zinc top is so awesome as well!
We can attest to the fabulousness of this piece since we have it hanging in the entrance hall at the beach house! It is a major focal point.
Speaking of statement lighting… Love!
These bamboo chairs would be great at the ends of a dining table, in a bedroom… Anywhere, really!
Stunning! We’re also obsessed with these… They are almost two-feet tall and just asking to be on either side of one of our mantles…
We love basically anything from Made Goods, so it’s no surprise that this cocktail table is on our short list. So chic but just casual enough.
This sunburst wall sculpture is an instant focal point. Stunning!
Now. The good news. Chairish is graciously donating $100 to one of our shopping habits today! Click here to enter!
And we would be THRILLED if you would go check out our own collection on Chairish!
Thanks for stopping by today!

Whether antique, brand new or somewhere in between, there are few decorating staples we love to utilize like a great collection of books. While the glossy ones can be glamorous, there is something about the history of an heirloom that adds so much character to a room, not to mention that the outsides of vintage books are generally as interesting as their insides. From the most relaxed room to the most formal, here are a few of our favorite shots.
The Life of Polarn Per
Olsson and Jenson Design We aren’t sure if this is antique or simply really beautiful handmade paper, but, either way, we’d like to have a copy!
Bookcases don’t always have to be arranged in perfect lines. Sometimes, we prefer when you can tell someone really uses their shelves.
The Paris Apartment
This whole desk area is like going back in time.
Decorpad This collection must have been quite the find. We haven’t run across too many sets of white spines, unfortunately!
The Little Book of Secrets
The Book of Secrets
Antique books don’t always have to match! We love that these look well loved and collected.
Turquoise, Tulips and Bliss
Have a great day, everyone!
