It’s only Tuesday, and we’re dreaming of a weekend at the beach again already… It’s just that time of year I guess! From sailboats to sea shells to a hint of nautical rope, we’re celebrating those tiny touches that take a home from chic to beach chic. We hope these photos make you feel like you’re on a mini-vacation today!
The summertime may be drawing to a close, but we’re still all about easy living. This fabulously soothing Towd Point Cottage from Heiberg Cummings is just the kind of place we’d like to relax all year long. Enjoy the tour!
Few places on earth compare to Palm Beach when it comes to fabulous, over-the-top design.
But, if loud colors and bamboo furniture everywhere you look are all you equate with Palm Beach style, think again.
This stunning Palm Beach place is crisp, clean and even a little subdued at times.
This neutral palette with pops of blue is, to us, the ultimate in soothing shore decor. And we love the bamboo silverware.
These chairs are so pretty and add such a delicate feel to the room. We’re big fans of dark floors for contrast against a white table and chairs. Plus, bare dining room floors are just practical. Easy sweeping!
It really is those thoughtful touches that take a morning meal from simple to sublime.
Fresh vegetables are always a part of a well-appointed kitchen, ready for laid-back entertaining.
Twin beds are so chic, from kid’s rooms to guest rooms.
We love a chaise, but a comfy chair with ottoman can be just as good.
These lovely ladies prove that true fashion never goes out of style. And few places know style like Palm Beach. We hope you enjoyed today’s home tour. Thanks for visiting us!
Kiawah Island is one of our favorite quaint, sleepy beaches in South Carolina. But, as it turns out, everything in this idyllic setting isn’t so quaint. This stunning space, design by the talented Mark Finlay is truly a beachside paradise that anyone would be lucky to call home. Take a look and be inspired. We’re feeling more relaxed already!
We hope you’re all having a wonderful week! Thanks for visiting us today.
Oh my goodness, what a difference a few (hundred!) pieces of sheetrock can make! After a long stretch of doing all those things that you can’t really see — i.e., plumbing, electric, roof, repointing the chimneys, etc., etc., we finally have progress! Little Will’s room has walls…
The old doorway in the downstairs master has been covered and the new one cut…
The downstairs master bathroom no longer has a view to the pantry! It also has a new bathtub…
As does the upstairs master!
The kitchen is all ready for floors, paint, cabinets and appliances!
The chaise lounge reading room/fishing rod storage area — as you can see, we’re still negotiating on this one — has brand new windows, no cabinets and fresh sheet rock!
The half bath is a foot taller!
The backyard has been completely cleared out and is getting ready for new wood and a new screened porch — and parking pads.
The front yard has been cleared of the scruffy bushes and is ready for new plants and some fresh, beautiful sod.
If you want to revisit some of the “before” photos, check out the downstairs and the upstairs original photos.
We can’t wait until we have final “after” pictures. It’s getting closer!
In other news, we have to thank our friend Mon — you know her from the so fab Splendid Willow — for sending Will THE BEST birthday gift! Seriously, he’s so impressed with himself and his big number one every time he wears this shirt. She has them on her super chic store Splendid Avenue. If you want to be the cool aunt/mom/friend/sister/brother, this is the gift! We hope you all have a fantastic day. Thanks so much for visiting us!
