Coral Dreaming

Nothing says “beach chic” like a fabulous piece of coral.

beautiful coral is an interior design staple.
Of course, we’re not into destroying precious natural resources, so we’re huge fans of faux pieces.
Most of the time, you can’t even tell the difference between resin and the real thing!
A pretty bowl of shells makes such a great statement in a beach house.

We love the pop of white against a gray background.
A full bookcase display of coral is so chic. We plan on doing something similar in Beaufort

Coffered Ceilings…

Susan Gilmore Photography
Plain old ceilings with plain old ceiling white might be a staple.

But, really, can’t we do better?

Nothing thrills us more than when that fifth wall (sixth wall?) brings something to the table.

Coffered ceilings add warmth, interest, and, oh yes, tons of style!
Better Homes and Gardens
We adore them especially in kitchens, where they add such a homey feel.

Exposed beams are great, but, if they feel a little too rustic, shiny white coffered ceilings add that same distinct element while still feeling fresh and modern.

Especially when you don’t want to lose an inch of ceiling height, a flat molding on the ceiling can form a fabulous pattern without stealing much of that precious floor-to-ceiling space.

The paneling throughout this space is gorgeous! It’s an accessory in and of itself.

Great cabinetry and a beautiful coffered ceiling absolutely make a kitchen.

Of course, a coffered ceiling is no reason to skimp on the fabulous lighting… Not that any of you ever would!

Oh my goodness,  only four shopping days left… We hope you’ve all shopped ’til you dropped and are enjoying a mug of cocoa beside a roaring fire admiring your tree!
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!

Lavish Laundry

Brooke Gianetti via Decorpad

After a week of washing baby clothes, baby sheets, cloth diapers, lovies, swaddle blankets, burp cloths, onesies, etc., etc., etc., the last thing I thought I would want to see is another laundry room.

But, honestly, these laundry rooms are so lovely, it might not be so bad to spend a little more time in them.

Or maybe that’s because these rooms don’t seem to actually have anything to wash. Or dry. Or iron.

Either way, doesn’t a beautiful, sleek, clean space make a chore feel a lot more fun?

Design Fabulous

Add a chandelier, and washing clothes suddenly seems like a day at the beach!

We hope that your weekend involves lots of fun, lots of rest and anything else that doesn’t involve, well, laundry. If you’re in Irene’s path, stay safe!
