It has been an incredible week in the The Southern Side of Paradise world–to say the least! One of my big, lofty goals when I started writing was to appear on the Publisher’s Weekly Bestseller List. That dream came true this week because of YOU! Thank you so much to everyone who has purchased the The Southern Side of Paradise and recommended it to friends. I couldn’t believe it when I saw my name on the Publisher’s Weekly List–and The Bookscan Bestseller List (#19. Woo hoo!)! The Southern Side of Paradise was also a Barnes & Noble Bestseller, and topped the iTunes Charts in both ebooks and audiobooks!
I have the best readers in the whole wide world! Thank you so much for your support.

I had the best day yesterday in Louisville, KY with my friends Michelle and Jennifer from Black, White & Kuhl.
They gave me the full Kentucky experience, from appearing together on Great Day Live to a super fun Junior League Book Club Event. I know why Louisville is considered one of the friendliest cities in the country!
Talk about making your week bright! There’s nothing better than meeting readers in new cities–and finding new cities to love!
This fabulous laundry room is the kind of place we would actually want to do laundry. Bring on the folding!
Dining al fresco is always welcome in the summer months. These pretty blue napkins are the perfect complement to the sea right beyond.
A beautiful back porch is a home’s must-have, especially during the southern months. If it has a screen, all the better!
This fabulous bedroom shows that a room doesn’t have to be big on space to be huge on style.
Everything about this exterior is amazing, but we think the wood door is our favorite touch.
Thanks so much for making Design Chic a part of your day!
“Writers come and writers go but Kristy Woodson Harvey is here to stay. The warmth, wit and wisdom of this novel pave her way into the exclusive Sisterhood of Southern Writers.” —The Huffington Post, Jackie K Cooper
Good morning, chic readers! We hope you are having a great day. The Southern Side of Paradise (tour dates below!) is in full swing and we hope to see you while we’re traveling!
In my last novel, The Secret to Southern Charm, Peachtree Bluff’s least Southern sister, Caroline, has a gorgeous Hamptons home that is the site of one of the most memorable chapters of the book. And, this year, I’ll be touring in the Hamptons as well! Today, we are imagining what Caroline’s Hamptons Beach House might look like. Take a peek for yourself!
From The Secret to Southern Charm:
CAROLINE’S HOUSE IN EAST Hampton suited her perfectly.
It wasn’t big, and it wasn’t on the water, but every inch of it was elegant and just modern enough.
The entire palette was water blues and creams with touches of gold, seagrass, and plenty of natural beauty from resin coral and oyster shells.
I had never been to it, of course. And walking through the front door, I instantly felt calm.
I assumed that’s what Mom had been going for when she designed it.
We can picture all the members of the Murphy clan gathering in a spot just like this at Caroline’s gorgeous home, decorated for her by Ansley, her interior designer mother…
And receiving some of the biggest news of their lives.
In The Southern Side of Paradise, that news would most certainly surround youngest sister Emerson who has her fair share of conflict in this novel.
We imagine this home to be perfectly styled but unfussy. This chicken wire sink is just that!
What’s the beach without blues? A rattan nightstand and vintage bathing suit print are perfect for a casual Hamptons house.
We love any beach cottage with shingles. Could this possibly be any more charming?
We hope you have loved this gorgeous New England home as much as we have. Thanks so much for making Design Chic a part of your day!
