Good morning, chic readers! Almost two years post-Hurricane Florence we are still, slowly but surely, finishing our remodel and getting things photo-ready again. If you’re a Design Chic follower, you probably know how much we absolutely love Serena and Lily. And we can’t wait to show you all the gorgeous S&L products we got to use in this master bedroom refresh. (And there’s one more to come that we’ll show you later in the week!)
We adore this gorgeous natural rattan Lanai Mirror and how it totally changed the look of the room, making it lighter, brighter and adding that perfect touch of coastal feel. It has a slightly aged look that makes it seem to tell a story, just like the house it’s in. We are huge fans of hanging chairs, and just love this one! A Serena & Lily throw and pillow complete the look, with thick, comfortable, quality fabrics that make the bedroom feel homey and cozy.
These gorgeous Venice Rattan chairs are comfortable, beautiful and the perfect size for a tiny nook. We can just imagine having our morning coffee right here. And luscious linen and down pillows add comfort and style.
Did we mention this fabulous hand-braided diamond jute rug? It was the perfect finishing touch over these 117-year-old hardwood floors. Unlike some natural fiber rugs, it is also incredibly soft underfoot!
This stunning nightstand is one of our favorite parts of this bedroom refresh. A gorgeous gray with pretty gold hardware, it not only looks great but also has smooth, easy open drawers with plenty of room for storage.
The bleached off-white shade of this jute rug blends perfectly with the mix of colors in the nightstand. The texture of the woven raffia adds an extra element of style. Five coats of lacquer create a beautiful, chic finish. We love every single element of this bedroom refresh! Keep scrolling for more stunning ways to incorporate Serena & Lily into your home decor, whether you’re on the shore or just want to feel like you are!
Beautiful bedding, vibrant colors, stunning furnishings and fabulous textiles, Serena & Lily has everything you need to turn a beach house into a home, a place where memories are made and summer seems to go on and on… Here’s to making the most of this one!
Already read and lovedFeels Like Falling? It would mean the world to me if you would take a moment to rate or review it on Amazon and/or Goodreads! Anyone can review, no matter where you bought the book!
If you’re looking for the perfect oasis, look no further than this gorgeous lake house on Alabama’s Lake Martin designed by the talented Liz Williams. But what’s outside, designed by the owners themselves just may even be better! Take a break, take a peek, and let us know which space is your favorite!
Our favorite season is in full swing! Have you picked up your summer reads yet? I would love it if you’d consider adding my sixth novel, Feels Like Falling, to the list!
With the world spinning out of control–or just slowing down, depending on how you think about it–we thought today would be the perfect time to focus on soothing, gorgeous master retreats.
Because, after all, a good night’s sleep is one of the foundations of wellness.
And if the master suite happens to have a fabulous view, why, all the better! We feel more relaxed just looking at these lovely, soothing spaces. We hope you feel the same.
Thanks so much for making Design Chic a part of your day! We always love seeing you here!
If you’re looking for a relaxing quarantine activity, reading is always a great choice! My entire Peachtree Bluff Series is out and available now!

After graduating with a degree in PR, Shea decided that she was passionate about interiors. Little did she know that, a few semesters into chasing her dream, she would have a huge waitlist of clients.
Shea enlisted her husband Syd and, together, they created Studio McGee, a design firm that has grown to more than 30 team members and manages projects nationwide.
With the team’s bright, airy and slightly organic aesthetic, it’s easy to see why Studio McGee has become one of the most well-known design firms in the U.S.
The studio’s work has been featured in magazines including Vogue Living, Architectural Digest, Elle Decor and House Beautiful, among others.
Shea turned her vision for a side-project for a stay-at-home mom into something much larger–and it’s safe to say that her clients have benefitted from the leap of faith that Shea and Syd took in that guest bedroom.
With the perfect laid-back luxe vibe, we can’t possibly pick a favorite space!
We can’t what to see what the Studio McGee team creates next!
