What Your Favorite Influencers are Saying about my next novel, Feels Like Falling:

Before I even start a Kristy Woodson Harvey novel, I know that I am in for a captivating story laced with delightful characters.  Gray has hit a string of bad luck.  Loss of a loved one, a cheating spouse, and a sister who has made the wrong decision in choosing a spouse.  Enter: Diana, who is facing challenges of her own. One of which is caused by Gray. I can’t wait to start this wonderful book.  I have yet to finish a Kristy Woodson Harvey novel without a smile and a tear.  —Preppy Empty Nester

Here’s What’s Next from the Murphy Women:

From internationally bestselling author and “rising star of Southern fiction” (Mary Alice Monroe, New York Times bestselling author) Kristy Woodson Harvey comes the third novel in her Peachtree Bluff series, in which a secret threatens the tight-knit bond between a trio of sisters and their mother.

With the man of her dreams back in her life and all three of her daughters happy, Ansley Murphy should be content. But she can’t help but feel like it’s all a little too good to be true.

Meanwhile, youngest daughter and actress Emerson, who is recently engaged and has just landed the role of a lifetime, seemingly has the world by the tail. Only, something she can’t quite put her finger on is worrying her—and it has nothing to do with her recent health scare.

When two new women arrive in Peachtree Bluff—one who has the potential to wreck Ansley’s happiness and one who could tear Emerson’s world apart—everything is put in perspective. And after secrets that were never meant to be told come to light, the powerful bond between the Murphy sisters and their mother comes crumbling down, testing their devotion to each other and forcing them to evaluate the meaning of family.

With Kristy Woodson Harvey’s signature charm, wit, and heart, The Southern Side of Paradise is another masterful Peachtree Bluff novel that proves she is a “Southern writer with staying power” (Booklist).

Things We Love: A Gorgeous White Garden

It is summer and that means time for gardens galore! Sitting in them, admiring them… We love all of that!

The planting and keeping alive is where things get dicey. Fortunately, hardy favorites like these gorgeous hydrangeas are stunning and well within our wheelhouse.

We don’t know about you, but we love beautiful blooms that we can cut and move into our own house. It’s such an easy and chic touch.

We love so many different kinds of gardens, from the streamlined to the very, very complicated.

A fabulous patio is one of the best parts of spring. But, without a luscious view, porch sitting can fall flat. That’s certainly not a problem for any of these lovely landscapes!

This beautiful yard reminds us of a perfectly tailored pair of black pants. They fit so well that they can’t help but be gorgeous.

The Secret to Southern Charm

Speaking of, if you need something to read while you’re catching rays this summer, look no further than The Secret to Southern Charm! Summer is the perfect time to get up to date on the Murphy girls and Peachtree Bluff, Georgia, a town where the breeze is warm, the sun is shining, and nothing is ever quite as simple as it seems!

Things We Love: Garden Gates

Jean Allsopp Photography

These long, lazy days of summer are the perfect time to get outside and enjoy the splendor of a beautiful gardenWhile flowers, shrubs and green things of every kind are certainly the main event of any garden, there’s one essential that we think adds so much charm and style:

A fabulous garden gate!

From a sophisticated pergola overflowing with flowers,

garden gate
Hollander Design

To a simple gate that whispers “welcome,”

From a simple, classic wrought iron,

To a stunning style with automatic open,

There are so many styles to enhance a garden of any size or type.

A gate is a perfect opportunity to insert another material into a pretty brick wall,

Or create a secret passageway in a stone enclosure.

While white makes an elegant statement–especially when combined with white florals on the front. What is your favorite type of garden gate?

What Exquisitely Unremarkable is saying about Slightly South of Simple:

books - slightly south of simple

“I have read Kristy’s other two books, Dear Carolina and Lies And Other Acts Of Love, and while I completely enjoyed both, [Slightly South of Simple] really hit home.  I don’t know if it was the fact that it’s set at the beach ~ where I live ~ or that there were references to NY ~ where I also live ~ that it’s the story about three sisters and their widowed mom ~ hello, that’s my family ~ or the fact that I myself am the mom to girls.  Or maybe it was those references to 9/11. I swear, the conversation in the book is the exact one I had with my own husband on that terrifying morning. So much of what Kristy had written felt familiar. I just couldn’t put it down.  Of course, even if you don’t have the same connections that I have, you’ll still love this one. The characters are likable, the Southern setting is dreamy, there are tears, laughter, surprises, secrets and best of all, romance. The perfect summer read.” Kim, Exquisitely Unremarkable
