Feels Like falling by Kristy Woodson Harvey Beach house book

I am so excited that my new novel Feels Like Falling releases on April 28!

More About Feels Like Falling…

From “the next major voice in Southern fiction” (Elin Hilderbrand) and the bestselling author of the Peachtree Bluff series comes an odd couple tale of friendship that asks just how much our past choices define our happiness.

In her warmest, wittiest, and wisest novel yet, Kristy Woodson Harvey delivers a discerning portrait of modern womanhood through two vastly different lenses. Feels Like Falling is a beach bag essential for Harvey fans—and for a new generation of readers.

House Tour: Greenwich Village Brownstone

Greenwich Village Brownstone living room

Manhattan is one of our most favorite places to visit. And, in honor of our upcoming trip, we thought we’d tour this fabulous Greenwich Village home designed by the uber-talented Katie Martinez Design.

Greenwich Village Brownstone living room

These simple iron curtain rods and white drapes are the perfect frame for these bright, light-filled windows.

Gorgeous architectural details like the ones in this apartment should be celebrated. The art choices add so much style!

Greenwich Village Brownstone kitchen

We’re big fans of mixing metals, and copper pendants are oh-so chic.

Greenwich Village Brownstone

This open floor plan makes the space live so large. Breakfast bars are one of our favorite features in any home.

It goes without saying that these marble counters and backsplash are positively luscious. The pulls and faucets are just the icing on the cake.

Little nooks are some of our favorite parts of any home. The piano by the staircase is amazing, especially if the sound coming out of it is as pretty as it is!

How good are these floors?

Another amazing fireplace!

Storage space isn’t at a premium in this home!

The simplicity of this master is oh so chic.

And the bathroom is the perfect match, down to the crystal knobs.

Subway tile is always great. When it’s marble subway tile? We can barely think of anything better! Everything about this Greenwich home is simply stunning. Thanks so much for taking a tour of it with us!

Thanks for making Design Chic a part of your day. We always love seeing you here!

_____________

Leaving fans “practically [begging] for a sequel” (Bookpage), critically acclaimed author Kristy Woodson Harvey returns with the second novel in her beloved Peachtree Bluff series, featuring a trio of sisters and their mother who discover a truth that will change not only the way they see themselves, but also how they fit together as a family.

After finding out her military husband is missing in action, middle sister Sloane’s world crumbles as her worst nightmare comes true. She can barely climb out of bed, much less summon the strength to be the parent her children deserve.

Her mother, Ansley, provides a much-needed respite as she puts her personal life on hold to help Sloane and her grandchildren wade through their new grief-stricken lives. But between caring for her own aging mother, her daughters, and her grandchildren, Ansley’s private worry is that secrets from her past will come to light.

But when Sloane’s sisters, Caroline and Emerson, remind Sloane that no matter what, she promised her husband she would carry on for their young sons, Sloane finds the support and courage she needs to chase her biggest dreams—and face her deepest fears. Taking a cue from her middle daughter, Ansley takes her own leap of faith and realizes that, after all this time, she might finally be able to have it all.

Harvey’s signature warmth and wit make this a charming and poignant story of first loves, missed opportunities, and second chances and proves that she is “the next major voice in Southern fiction” (Elin Hilderbrand, New York Times bestselling author).

New York Living: Re-Inventing Home

New York Living: Re-Inventing Home

I always thought I would live in New York. Maybe not forever. The average southerner only makes it 18 months, after all. But Mom and Dad lived there, at least for a while, and we were very frequent visitors for my entire life.

As it turns out, I’m a small town girl through and through, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t still love heading to NYC to meet with my editor or, as I’ll be doing April 25 and 26, having my very first NYC book launch!

No doubt about it, New York living is different. The spaces can be smaller, but not only do we love a good cozy space, we also love to see how creative people get with them! Tub by the fireplace anyone? It’s genius!

Of course, not every New York space is small. Not at all.

But, no matter the size, it seems that New Yorkers know better than most anyone how to take advantage of every square inch in total style.

A fabulous new coffee table book, New York Living: Re-Inventing Home displays the ups and downs, highs and lows and ins and outs of city living at its finest. From a Brooklyn brownstone to a 5th Avenue Penthouse, this gorgeous book indulges our curiosity in how other people live.

If you’re a fan of city living–or simply a fan of seeing how other people live–make sure to pick up a copy for your coffee table!

Speaking of New York:

We’re so thrilled that the NYC Slightly South of Simple launch party on April 26, 2017 will be at Roxy Te’s gorgeous Society Social showroom. If you don’t know Roxy’s work, you will love, love, love her and her fabulous wares. We’d love to see you there and on April 25 at the 92nd Street Y!
