Feels Like Falling a Beach Read by Kristy Woodson Harvey

More About Feels Like Falling…

From “the next major voice in Southern fiction” (Elin Hilderbrand) and the bestselling author of the Peachtree Bluff series comes an odd couple tale of friendship that asks just how much our past choices define our happiness.

It’s summertime on the North Carolina coast and the livin’ is easy.

Unless, that is, you’ve just lost your mother to cancer, your sister to her evangelical husband, and your husband to his executive assistant. Meet Gray Howard. Right when Gray could use a serious infusion of good karma in her life, she inadvertently gets a stranger fired from her job at the local pharmacy.

Diana Harrington’s summer isn’t off to the greatest start either: Hours before losing her job, she broke up with her boyfriend and moved out of their shared house with only a busted Impala for a bed. Lucky for her, Gray has an empty guest house and a very guilty conscience.

With Gray’s kindness, Diana’s tide begins to turn, but when the one that got away comes back, every secret from her past seems to resurface all at once. And, as Gray begins to blaze a new trail, she discovers, with Diana’s help, that what she envisioned as her perfect life may not be what she wants at all.

In her warmest, wittiest, and wisest novel yet, Kristy Woodson Harvey delivers a discerning portrait of modern womanhood through two vastly different lenses. Feels Like Falling is a beach bag essential for Harvey fans—and for a new generation of readers.

Feeling Fall with Fabulous Friends

This month, we’re welcoming fall, in our homes and in our lives overall. We don’t know about you, but, for us, welcoming fall means opening the windows, letting fresh air in and savoring the crispness in the air.

Thom Filicia

Welcoming fall is about adding cozy throws and great textures and favoring shades of tan and pumpkin, gold and creams, the richer hues that correspond so well with the changing leaves and the sun that’s setting just a little earlier already.

Sotheby’s Realty

Fall is also a fabulous time to celebrate the change of seasons with a fun soiree, which, of course, means getting the kitchen in tip top shape.

We’ll admit it: We like to leave the cooking to the professionals. But the right, gorgeous cookware that makes the food taste as good as the pots and pans look is a necessity when getting ready for a change of season celebration.

Evars and Anderson

I’m in the market for new barstools right now, and these adorable cushions welcome fall in this kitchen with aplomb! A pretty (and delicious!) arrangement of seasonal fruits and veggies makes for a stunning centerpiece, no flowers required.

One Kings Lane

One of the things on our minds right now is hanging some new pieces of art to really get our houses party ready. These fall tones are very of the moment!

Coastal Living Magazine

Speaking of works of art, what a perfect setting for a fall fete!

Tory Burch

When it comes to parties, getting dressed is half the fun! This Tory Burch outfit hits all the high notes of equestrian style.

Kate Spade NY

Speaking of animal-inspired fashion, this display at Kate Spade is so fabulous! It seems like leopard is everywhere we look this fall. So we must include it in our outfits!

Rose and Ivy

While cocktails and dinner are always fabulous, sometimes having a few good friends for a great cup of coffee is all it takes to turn an ordinary day into a celebration. A mix of antique silver and new pottery, we couldn’t love this juxtaposition any more!

Tom Ford Favorites for Fall

Our friend (He’s so not our friend. But girls can dream, right?) Tom Ford has assembled the ultimate fall collection for making our faces look fabulous no matter what the season holds.

paint colors for fall

And the brilliant minds from BHG have so many great tips for the perfect paint tips to transform any home for fall. We’re obsessed with Golden Ginger. It may very well be the new not-quite-white we all need so much!

Things We Love: Gleaming Kitchens

Good morning, friends! Summer in our houses has officially begun–and that can only mean one thing: time for summer vacation! But before we head off on ours, there’s nothing like coming home to a sparklingly clean house. We’re loving these stunning inspiration photos for getting the kitchen all spruced and organized.

In Good Taste: Threshold Design

When it comes to good taste, NYC design firm Threshold Interiors has it all figured out.

It’s hard to believe that just a week ago we were in NYC launching my latest novel, Slightly South of Simple. This week we’ll be hitting spots from Lake Lure, SC to Vero Beach and Palm Beach, Florida, and end up in Atlanta. Check out this week’s events below. I’d love to see you!

I spoke at the 92nd St. Y last week about designing small NYC spaces, but I have to say that these kitchens don’t look small at all!

In fact, they are spacious and leave plenty of room for imagination.

From beautiful natural stone

To statement-making hardware

Space-defining pendant lighting

To beautiful beams

Threshold has thought of everything in these gorgeous kitchens.

And this blue backsplash adds a special touch of color. Kitchens aren’t the only thing Threshold does wonderfully well, but today seemed like a great time to focus on the heart of the home. Would any of these elements be included in your dream kitchen?

Things We Love: Copper!

glass and copper pendants in kitchen

Happy Thursday, friends! We hope that you’re having a wonder week!  From cooking to gutters to a yummy Moscow Mule, copper is one of our favorite, fabulous versatile metals. We’ve never seen the metal used for pendants, but we absolutely love it!

If a whole pendant is too much, we adore the look of a copper and glass pendant. These light each work surface beautifully.

A splash of copper on a gorgeous range can absolutely make a kitchen.

Those copper lanterns on either side of the stove are amazing! Such a great touch!

Copper pots and pans are not only great for cooking but also like jewelry for the kitchen! We’d hang them out in the open too!

Yummy, yummy! Perfect for that Moscow Mule — or whatever this delicious mint and blueberry concoction is.

And, of course, makes a splash against plain white subway tile.

Copper flatware is such a cool alternative to plain stainless. It sets a gorgeous table!

But, my oh my, if we’re going to choose one copper piece that we would want in our homes, it would be a giant copper tub in the bathroom! Perfect for keeping bath water toasty warm for long winter soaking. All that’s missing is a good book!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. We hope you have a great start to the week!

Don’t forget Mom on May 14! Our pick for a gift – of course, The Secret to Southern Charm!
