Good morning, chic readers, and happy Thursday! We hope you are looking forward to a wonderful weekend ahead!  We all know that the devil is in the details. And these gorgeous images prove that the style is in the beautiful architecture too.

From elegant archways to charming shiplap ceilings, thoughtful door casings and custom cabinetry, it’s the little things in a house that add up to something big.

Isn’t this ceiling incredible?!

And, of course, how we accentuate those details can only make it better. From pretty accessories that go with the flow and work with the overall taste and feel,

To bold statements that stand out in style, varied pieces work together to achieve an overall look and feel that is uniquely yours.

And four blank walls become the place where family fun is had and memories are made.

Just a hint of color can change the entire look of any space. The blue in this kitchen is so chic! And we love the plate rack!

If you could add one type of beautiful architecture to your home, what would it be?

House Tour: Harrison Design

Harrison Design foyer with French doors

When editor-in-chief of Veranda Steele Marcoux, interior designer Bunny Williams, and Robert A.M. Stern Architect Roger Seifter speak, we listen.

So when this esteemed panel of judges named Karen Ferguson, director of interior design for Harrison Design, the 2019 Southeast Residential Designer of the Year, we were so excited to shout her news from the rooftops!

This stunning Atlanta home was instrumental in earning Ferguson her latest accolade.

Fresh and engaging, this home’s interior leans on tradition while taking bold steps toward the future.

Bunny Williams said, “The detailing of the kitchen and bathroom were perfection.”

Rich walnut floors and an oversized Louis XV mirror create continuity between the master bathroom and bedroom.

Large slabs of Carrara marble mixed with intricate palisandro bluette detailing complement the Roman motifs in the his and hers shower.

Williams also noted Ferguson’s “ability to handle both a modern sensibility and more traditional vibe with a clear sense of proportion and scale.” To us, this is one of the most difficult acheivements in design, simply because it’s easiest to master the style that is your favorite.

Mixing styles and bouncing back and forth between them can prove challenging for even the most skilled designers. But, as this home proves, not for Harrison. We can’t wait to see what the Southeast Residential Designer of the Year does next!
