It’s summertime on the North Carolina coast and the livin’ is easy. Unless, that is, you’ve just lost your mother to cancer, your sister to her extremist husband, and your husband to his executive assistant. Meet Gray Howard. Right when Gray could use a serious infusion of good karma in her life, she inadvertently gets a stranger, Diana Harrington, fired from her job at the local pharmacy. Diana Harrington’s summer isn’t off to the greatest start either: Hours before losing her job, she broke up with her boyfriend and moved out of their shared house with only a worn-out Impala for a bed. Lucky for her, Gray has an empty guest house and a very guilty conscience. With Gray’s kindness, Diana’s tide begins to turn. But when her first love returns, every secret from her past seems to resurface all at once. And, as Gray begins to blaze a new trail, she discovers, with Diana’s help, that what she envisioned as her perfect life may not be what she wants at all. In her warmest, wisest novel yet, Kristy Woodson Harvey delivers a discerning portrait of modern womanhood through two vastly different lenses. Feels Like Falling is a beach bag essential for Harvey fans—and for a new generation of readers.
Some homes simply require that you stop and take notice. This Buck County house and garden, complete with its stone facade and charming gate, is one of those enviable spots. And its storybook exterior is only the beginning.
This gorgeous light-filled living room beckons anyone who enters to stay awhile. A glass-top table combines perfectly with beautiful upholstery for a cozy feeling.
And nothing could make for a cozier living room than a crackling fire and a little corner chair.
We love a sofa table for creating the feeling of distinction between rooms in an open floor plan. A pair of lamps lights the space perfectly.
We’ve always been throw rug people, but more and more, bare wood floors seems to appeal to us. They contrast beautifully with light furnishings and make everything feel fresh and clean.
Displaying the work of a fabulous artist is one of the chief jobs of a great piece of furniture. And it’s all the better when the chest could be art as well!
The wood cabinets in this kitchen contribute to that country farmhouse feel.
A canopy is one of our favorite ways to add luxury and glamour to a bedroom.
That pale blue is the perfect, soothing paint color and those wide-plank floors are perfection!
A chaise in a bedroom would be our favorite spot for lounging.
There’s nowhere in the house that we love more than porches and patios. Entertaining would be a snap on this amazing slate patio.
A charming, well-manicured garden is great for whiling away an afternoon and some good, hard thinking time.
The view of the garden from this sunny spot is just perfect! So relaxing! We hope your Wednesday is the same!
I also wanted to share with you that my new novel, THE SOUTHERN SIDE OF PARADISE, is available for pre-order now from your local bookstore, Indiebound, Amazon and Barnes & Noble (Only in hardback and paperback so far. E-books to come!)–and, this week, it’s for a great cause!

Many of you know that Eastern NC was hard hit by Hurricane Florence–and Hurricane Michael on its tail was another major setback. While we are beginning to repair there will be months and months of clean up and rebuilding to come. Thousands lost their homes and shelters are still filled weeks after the storm. There is so much to be done!

From internationally bestselling author and “rising star of Southern fiction” (Mary Alice Monroe, New York Times bestselling author) Kristy Woodson Harvey comes the third novel in her Peachtree Bluff series, in which a secret threatens the tight-knit bond between a trio of sisters and their mother.
With the man of her dreams back in her life and all three of her daughters happy, Ansley Murphy should be content. But she can’t help but feel like it’s all a little too good to be true.
Meanwhile, youngest daughter and actress Emerson, who is recently engaged and has just landed the role of a lifetime, seemingly has the world by the tail. Only, something she can’t quite put her finger on is worrying her—and it has nothing to do with her recent health scare.
When two new women arrive in Peachtree Bluff—one who has the potential to wreck Ansley’s happiness and one who could tear Emerson’s world apart—everything is put in perspective. And after secrets that were never meant to be told come to light, the powerful bond between the Murphy sisters and their mother comes crumbling down, testing their devotion to each other and forcing them to evaluate the meaning of family.
With Kristy Woodson Harvey’s signature charm, wit, and heart, The Southern Side of Paradise is another masterful Peachtree Bluff novel that proves she is a “Southern writer with staying power” (Booklist).
We’ve said it before, and we’ll probably say it again: Fabulous furnishings are nothing without stunning photography. Perfectly filled bookcases look off balance, ideally proportioned chairs look too small… The list goes on and on and on. But, in the hands of a skilled professional, each room looks just as chicly amazing as it does in real life–and in the mind of the designer who dreamed it. One glance at the amazing photos by Alyssa Rosenheck, and we’re sure you’ll agree!
This is undoubtedly a tricky space to style. We never would have put this together, but it’s fabulous!
The femininity of the furnishings pair beautifully with more masculine dark wood and horns. Perfect for every member of the family!
Gold and silver mix so well in this kitchen. This is statement lighting at its finest. And that range hood? So good!
A shock of blue lacquer is fabulous against this neutral backdrop.
We love everything about this kitchen! Isn’t that tiny desk the best use of space? And the wine becomes a decoration. So lovely!
If we were going to describe this room in one room it would be luxurious. Soft pink feels so sweetly relaxing.
We would never have thought to put a pendant in a bedroom, but it works so well in this spot. It’s cozy and charming.
What a fun way to learn your numbers! This bedroom is too, too adorable!
This soaking tub pairs extraordinarily with these beautiful rugs.
The juxtaposition of the raw wood ceiling with the crystal chandelier is gorgeous. The entire space makes a one-of-a-kind statement.
And, thanks to the lens that captured it all so well, we are sure you agree. Happy Tuesday, friends!
