_____________

Leaving fans “practically [begging] for a sequel” (Bookpage), critically acclaimed author Kristy Woodson Harvey returns with the second novel in her beloved Peachtree Bluff series, featuring a trio of sisters and their mother who discover a truth that will change not only the way they see themselves, but also how they fit together as a family.

After finding out her military husband is missing in action, middle sister Sloane’s world crumbles as her worst nightmare comes true. She can barely climb out of bed, much less summon the strength to be the parent her children deserve.

Her mother, Ansley, provides a much-needed respite as she puts her personal life on hold to help Sloane and her grandchildren wade through their new grief-stricken lives. But between caring for her own aging mother, her daughters, and her grandchildren, Ansley’s private worry is that secrets from her past will come to light.

But when Sloane’s sisters, Caroline and Emerson, remind Sloane that no matter what, she promised her husband she would carry on for their young sons, Sloane finds the support and courage she needs to chase her biggest dreams—and face her deepest fears. Taking a cue from her middle daughter, Ansley takes her own leap of faith and realizes that, after all this time, she might finally be able to have it all.

Harvey’s signature warmth and wit make this a charming and poignant story of first loves, missed opportunities, and second chances and proves that she is “the next major voice in Southern fiction” (Elin Hilderbrand, New York Times bestselling author).

House Tour: Storybook Farmhouse

house-and-garden storybook charming

Some homes simply require that you stop and take notice. This Buck County house and garden, complete with its stone facade and charming gate, is one of those enviable spots. And its storybook exterior is only the beginning.

glass - storybook charming

This gorgeous light-filled living room beckons anyone who enters to stay awhile. A glass-top table combines perfectly with beautiful upholstery for a cozy feeling.

living room

And nothing could make for a cozier living room than a crackling fire and a little corner chair.

lights -Storybook Farmhouse

We love a sofa table for creating the feeling of distinction between rooms in an open floor plan. A pair of lamps lights the space perfectly.

wood -Storybook Farmhouse

We’ve always been throw rug people, but more and more, bare wood floors seems to appeal to us. They contrast beautifully with light furnishings and make everything feel fresh and clean.

artist -Storybook Farmhouse

Displaying the work of a fabulous artist is one of the chief jobs of a great piece of furniture. And it’s all the better when the chest could be art as well!

kitchen -Storybook Farmhouse

The wood cabinets in this kitchen contribute to that country farmhouse feel.

bedroom -Storybook Farmhouse

A canopy is one of our favorite ways to add luxury and glamour to a bedroom.

paint -Storybook Farmhouse

That pale blue is the perfect, soothing paint color and those wide-plank floors are perfection!

bedroom -Storybook Farmhouse

A chaise in a bedroom would be our favorite spot for lounging.

porches -Storybook Farmhouse

There’s nowhere in the house that we love more than porches and patios. Entertaining would be a snap on this amazing slate patio.

garden -Storybook Farmhouse

A charming, well-manicured garden is great for whiling away an afternoon and some good, hard thinking time.

garden -Storybook Farmhouse

The view of the garden from this sunny spot is just perfect! So relaxing! We hope your Wednesday is the same!

The Southern Side of Paradise

I also wanted to share with you that my new novel, THE SOUTHERN SIDE OF PARADISE, is available for pre-order now from your local bookstore, IndieboundAmazon and Barnes & Noble (Only in hardback and paperback so far. E-books to come!)–and, this week, it’s for a great cause!

Let’s Help Hurricane Florence Victims Together!

From Saturday, October 12-October 19 I will be donating 100% of the profits from the pre-order of THE SOUTHERN SIDE OF PARADISE to United Way of Coastal Carolina and Lenoir/Greene County, specifically for Hurricane Florence relief. Many of you know that Eastern NC was hard hit by Hurricane Florence–and Hurricane Michael on its tail was another major setback. While we are beginning to repair there will be months and months of clean up and rebuilding to come. Thousands lost their homes and shelters are still filled weeks after the storm. There is so much to be done!

And Be Automatically Entered in the Peachtree Bluff Takeover Giveaway!

AND, next June (exact date TBA) Peachtree Bluff will be “taking over” Beaufort, NC, the town on which it was based. Every single person who preorders between now now and will be registered to win:

*Two tickets to the Peachtree Bluff Town Takeover and Tour–on Beaufort’s signature double decker red buses!

*Two tickets to the farm-to-table dinner and launch party under the stars at the Beaufort Historic Site

*Two nights lodging in Beaufort, NC

Just send an email with proof of purchase to [email protected] to enter!

Here’s What’s Next from the Murphy Women:

From internationally bestselling author and “rising star of Southern fiction” (Mary Alice Monroe, New York Times bestselling author) Kristy Woodson Harvey comes the third novel in her Peachtree Bluff series, in which a secret threatens the tight-knit bond between a trio of sisters and their mother.

With the man of her dreams back in her life and all three of her daughters happy, Ansley Murphy should be content. But she can’t help but feel like it’s all a little too good to be true.

Meanwhile, youngest daughter and actress Emerson, who is recently engaged and has just landed the role of a lifetime, seemingly has the world by the tail. Only, something she can’t quite put her finger on is worrying her—and it has nothing to do with her recent health scare.

When two new women arrive in Peachtree Bluff—one who has the potential to wreck Ansley’s happiness and one who could tear Emerson’s world apart—everything is put in perspective. And after secrets that were never meant to be told come to light, the powerful bond between the Murphy sisters and their mother comes crumbling down, testing their devotion to each other and forcing them to evaluate the meaning of family.

With Kristy Woodson Harvey’s signature charm, wit, and heart, The Southern Side of Paradise is another masterful Peachtree Bluff novel that proves she is a “Southern writer with staying power” (Booklist).

The Ultimate Escape in North Palm Beach

Susan Lovell Interior Design, Photography by Eric Piasecki

Good morning, chic friends! I just got back from an awesome weekend in Chicago with the members of my Tall Poppy Writers group, and we had the best time! I haven’t been to Chicago since I was little (even though I’ve been to its beautiful suburbs on book tour), and it is such an amazing city!

abstract art Suzanne Lovell

It was, however, a bit of a shock to my system to leave 87 degree Beaufort and land in freezing Chicago.

Suzanne Lovell entrance

My wake-up call this morning, (By an actual live human being, not a recorder… I know!) said, “Good morning, Mrs. Harvey. The current temperature is thirty-eight degrees.”

Suzanne Lovell living room

Here’s a tip: If you ever have to get me out of bed at 5:30 am, do not lead with the fact that it’s 38 degrees.

Suzanne Lovell living room

Needless to say, I was glad to get back to my eighties. I love the change of seasons. I really do.

Suzanne Lovell bar

But, well, the cold weather over the weekend has me thinking about one special place: Florida.

Suzanne Lovell living room

(Don’t tell my husband. It will make him nervous. I will honestly move at the drop of a hat. Probably because I always want to redecorate.)

Suzanne Lovell living room

Anyway, I am a North Carolina girl through and through, but Florida certainly has its charms.

Suzanne Lovell bar

And if I were going to pick a favorite town in Florida, it would have to be Palm Beach.

Suzanne Lovell bedroom

This gorgeous house makes an excellent case as to why. All that amazing architecture.

Suzanne Lovell bedroom

Enviable interiors that are elegant and chic.

Suzanne Lovell bathroom

And, oh yeah, the outdoors aren’t bad either.

Suzanne Lovell bedroom

As with most of the best things in life, it’s the details that make this house so incomparable. A very special reading lamp,

Suzanne Lovell porch

A pretty pop of color on the porch,

But maybe best of all, a 60-year-old Banyan tree.

As we well know, the best things in life are free, but this stunning home by Suzanne Lovell Interior Design, with photography Eric Piasecki, might be a pretty close second!

Coastal Charm On Sea Island

living-room

Sea Island Cottage

Good morning, friends! Welcome to Sea Island, Georgia! Yes. It’s just as beautiful as it sounds.

Sea Island, Georgia abstract-art

And this house? We’d say firmly, firmly in the beautiful category as well.

Sea Island, Georgia seagrass-rug

This is our favorite rug for any room, from dressy to casual and everything in between. This is the type of room that this rug was made for.

abstract-art Sea Island, Georgia

The stunning art gives a nod to the sea. We are big fans of these corals!

Sea Island, Georgia kitchen

Things fresh and green of all varieties are a lovely touch in this clean, white kitchen.

lucite.Sea Island, Georgia

Lucite and modern art add sophistication to this coastal home.

the-beach.Sea Island, Georgia

There are really no words for this view. Have you ever?

neutrals.Sea Island, Georgia

This entire house is simplicity at its finest. The neutrals are dreamy and the textures bring the home to life.

blue.Sea Island, Georgia

And, oh, the splashes of soothing blue… We want to move in immediately.

bedroom Sea Island, Georgia

Luxe linens make this bedroom feel like a fabulous retreat while the wide stripes and fun prints keep it casual.

marble Sea Island, Georgia

We love a good herringbone floor, but usually think of it in terms of hardwoods. This marble is stunning.

porch Sea Island, Georgia

With a view this gorgeous, who would ever want to go inside? We know we wouldn’t!

cottage

As if the inside wasn’t gorgeous enough, the outside of this lovely Sea Island home is simply stunning.

wood

We adore the water blue and shutters and the beautiful contrast of the dark wood door agains the light exterior.

palm-trees

It’s coastal while still feeling like the perfect place to call home all year round. The palm trees are the icing on the cake! We hope you enjoyed this Sea Island stunner. Thanks so much for making us a part of your day!

We’ve said it before, and we’ll probably say it again: Fabulous furnishings are nothing without stunning photography. Perfectly filled bookcases look off balance, ideally proportioned chairs look too small… The list goes on and on and on. But, in the hands of a skilled professional, each room looks just as chicly amazing as it does in real life–and in the mind of the designer who dreamed it. One glance at the amazing photos by Alyssa Rosenheck, and we’re sure you’ll agree!

This is undoubtedly a tricky space to style. We never would have put this together, but it’s fabulous!
