Hold onto your hats, one room challengers! We are so excited to be participating in our first ever One Room Challenge, hosted by the fabulous, lovely and amazing Linda from Calling it Home. Thanks so much for having us, Linda! You may need to shield your eyes on the next couple of photos. Because redoing this kitchen is going to be a bit of a project, to say the least…
Basically no natural light, five layers of linoleum tile, crumbling plywood cabinets and faux-wood paneling… It’s really hard to choose a favorite thing about this “before” kitchen.
Kitchen stools are honestly one of our favorite parts of the kitchen. Don’t get us wrong, we love having the family together around a big table. But we know for sure that that doesn’t always happen in our houses. (Well, at least not at breakfast…)
So it just makes sense for everyone to have a place to congregate and eat during the rush of morning breakfast and coffee and forgotten homework and searching for that thing you were supposed to take to work but you just can’t exactly remember what it is…
We don’t know about you, but whenever we start thinking about kitchen decorating ideas, it’s those kitchen cabinets that are always at the forefront of our mind.
Maybe it’s because cabinets take up the majority of the square footage of the kitchen, but we think they are on of the elements that, if not implemented properly can really ruin the look of a beautiful remodel.
