Things We Love: 2020 Kitchen Design Winners

Happy second day of 2020, friends! We hope your brand new decade is off to a terrific start and that your resolutions are going great–if you made any, that is. (Of course, we think you’re perfect the way you are!)

Here in Beaufort, we celebrate New Year‘s twice, once at 7 pm and once at midnight. At 7, disgraced pirate Captain Shack walks the plank covered in the ill humors and bad intentions of all the people of Beaufort.

He jumps and washes out to sea, as does the negativity of the year before, making way for a fresh beginning. (To be clear, it’s a fake pirate…) It’s such a fun symbol of letting go of the past to make way for the future. Plus, there are bonfires and s’mores, so that’s a bonus.

When it comes to fresh starts in the New Year, I bet quite a few of us begin in the kitchen, clearing away the clutter (and the candy!) of the old year.

If you’re looking for some kitchen inspiration to start your 2020 off right, look no further! This year’s Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles kitchen design winners know more than a few things about what’s new, what’s next and what’s fresh in all things kitchen.

We are love, love, loving seeing lacquer in these beauties.

And chic organic elements are always welcome. They give this kitchen a distinct feel.

Brass is still happening,

Bar stools just keep getting cooler (and more distinctive),

And, of course, space for family and friends and plenty of warmth defines these gorgeous rooms, which are the heart of the home to say the least. We’re taking notes, making lists, and getting lots of ideas for a 2020 refresh in our own kitchens. What about you?

Good morning, friends! We hope you’re having an amazing Tuesday! Did you get up this morning and check your horoscope?

In Good Taste: Alyssa Rosenheck

Chad James Group – Alyssa Rosenheck PhotographyWe’ve said it before, and we’ll probably say it again: Fabulous furnishings are nothing without stunning photography. Perfectly filled bookcases look off balance, ideally proportioned chairs look too small… The list goes on and on and on. But, in the hands of a skilled professional, each room looks just as chicly amazing as it does in real life–and in the mind of the designer who dreamed it. One glance at the amazing photos by Alyssa Rosenheck, and we’re sure you’ll agree!

Some rooms just have an instant wow-factor.

And some designers, like Lynne Scalo, have the innate ability to create that wow-factor in every space they create.
