Good morning, chic readers! We hope you had a terrific 4th of July holiday and found a little time for resting and playing!
Holiday weekends are always so fun. What’s less fun is catching up on all the things we put off doing during them… like laundry.
Of course, the laundry doesn’t have to feel like such a chore, not when the laundry room can easily become one of the most stunning rooms in the house!
A few simple design elements like fabulous tile and paint can transform a laundry room into a fun and whimsical space that makes doing the laundry just a little more fun.
But, really, even more than the look, having a functional space takes so much of the stress out of this weekly chore. Plenty of space for folding, sorting, and, yes, ironing, makes the job so much easier!
If you don’t want to devote a ton of space to the laundry room–and who does, really? Why not make it multi-purpose? We love how this room leaves plenty of (pretty) room for Fido.
And a cute craft table can double as folding space.
The mudroom is the perfect place for a washer and dryer. Dirty clothes don’t even have to get past the back door! And a pet shower built right in? Genius!
Baskets are a chic and easy staple for any room but there’s nowhere they’re more useful than the laundry room. Plus, they make great bathroom hampers.
A punch of color adds lots of life to this laundry area. And black and white tile are a forever favorite.
Whether you have lots of space or just a little, a few simple touches can help transform the laundry room from a bleak, dull space to somewhere that makes laundry time just a little more fun! Thanks so much for stopping by Design Chic today. We hope you have a great one!
What design bloggers are saying about Slightly South of Simple:
“Kristy captures the voices of a mother and 3 grown daughters in an authentic way. I would describe Slightly South of Simple as a sunny day at the beach, with a few menacing, cloudy twists. I’m glad to hear this magnetic read is the first of a series on this family of strong, independent women, landing again in Peach Tree Bluff. I loved it!” —Heather, Style Mind Chic
