Stunning Southhampton Style

We have lots and lots of places to visit on our bucket lists, and, to be honest, there aren’t many stores that make the cut.

But all that just changed.

Because One Kings Lane’s Southhampton store is so fabulous that we sort of want to book a plane ticket right now!

One Kings Lane is, of course, a favorite spot of ours (and we know yours too!) for finding great deals on the best brands.

But there is something so gratifying about actually visiting a store in person and being able to see and touch the things you are going to buy before you buy them.

We think it takes one of our favorite interiors stores to a new level!

And the home-like atmosphere is such an added bonus.

It makes it so easy to be able to see how things will actually look after they get through our front door. (Fabulous, obviously, but how fabulous.)

From living rooms that delight…

To bedrooms that wow, all the beauty of One Kings Lane’s website comes to life exquisitely in real life in their Southhampton showroom. We can’t wait to visit! What about you?

Things We Love: Bench Seating

Nancy Warren Design via Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles

When it comes to interior design, we could live a variety of ways. We’ll admit that we like formal details every now and then, crystal chandeliers and fussy fabrics. But we’re also huge fans of casual spaces that feel welcoming–and like it would be okay if you accidentally spilled your spaghetti.

Fabulous Floor Lamps!

Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles

If there’s one thing that has the power to change the feel of the room in an instant, it’s light. From light fixtures to the perfect lamps, we love adding light in any way we can to instantly make a room feel bright and fresh.

House Tour: English Cottage

entrance Cloth and Kind

Krista Nye Schwartz and Tami Ramsay, the co-owners and principal interior designers behind Cloth & Kind, have been inspired since their childhoods by international travel and the natural world.

One glance at their fantastic interiors, like this reimagined English Cottage, and it is clear that integrating treasured and well-loved relics into their designs is a priority for this dynamic duo.

Cloth and Kind living room

Neutral basics combine with luscious pops of color and pattern to create a space that is at once unique and easy to change as the mood–or trip–strikes!

Cloth and Kind dining room

Modern chairs and light fixture combine with a classic farmhouse table and an assortment of artistic pillows for a banquette that is as unique as the family that spends its meals there.

Cloth and Kind kitchen

Open shelving gives a feeling of openness, and this marble island is too luxe for words!

Brass pulls add a touch of that English charm.

Even the laundry room has a superb combination of the old, the new, and the completely unique.

A built-in desk is ideal for catching up on homework, and yellow accents make the entire space shine.

bedroom Cloth and Kind

A charming room for dreaming big. Just a few simple touches turn this from a boring bedroom into a child’s imaginative play space.

bathroom Cloth and Kind

Charming mosaic tile is a nod to this home’s era. Playful touches keep this bathroom kid-friendly and fresh. And white ensures it will grow up as they do.

This adorable master bedroom gets a touch of Boho chic from the fun chandelier. The traditional bed grounds the room and gives it roots!

Cloth and Kind bathroom

Simple valances and sleek glass shower doors lend a streamlined feel to this chic bath.

Cloth and Kind closet

Deep navy makes this fabulous closet space warm and cozy, while the mirrors lend light and spaciousness. The unique rug adds a touch of whimsy.

We are completely enamored of this fabulous home, of the mixture of old and new that gives it roots but also makes it feel fresh and modern. Thanks to Cloth & Kind for brightening our week with this wonderful tour. And thanks to all of you for making Design Chic a part of your day!

Things We Love: Brass Faucets

Brooke Giannetti

Good morning, readers! We hope all is well with you today! You know we love your emails, so we were so excited when our friend Patti emailed us about her fabulous new kitchen!

Brooke Giannetti

She, like us, loves to mix gold and silver. And she was wondering: should she use brass in the kitchen? (Although, she mentioned that it seems to be called “gold” these days. Brass is a bad word!)

House Tour: New Canaan

Wow. There really isn’t anything else to say about this fabulous Garrison Hullinger designed home in New Canaan. Whether you’re still holed up in the winter weather or basking gloriously somewhere warm, we have a feeling that this house tour is going to brighten your day! Step inside and stay awhile!

Things We Love: Chic Sconces

Sconce… Even the word is beautiful, isn’t it?

So much more so than “fixture.” Which makes me think of a toilet. (Sorry, Mom. I know you hate the word “toilet.”)
