Leaving fans “practically [begging] for a sequel” (Bookpage), critically-acclaimed author Kristy Woodson Harvey returns with the second novel in her beloved Peachtree Bluff series, featuring a trio of sisters and their mother who discover a truth that will change not only the way they see themselves, but also how they fit together as a family.
After finding out her military husband is missing in action, middle sister Sloane’s world crumbles as her worst nightmare comes true. She can barely climb out of bed, much less summon the strength to be the parent her children deserve.
Her mother, Ansley, provides a much-needed respite as she puts her personal life on hold to help Sloane and her grandchildren wade through their new grief-stricken lives. But between caring for her own aging mother, her daughters, and her grandchildren, Ansley’s private worry is that secrets from her past will come to light.
But when Sloane’s sisters, Caroline and Emerson, remind Sloane that no matter what, she promised her husband she would carry on for their young sons, Sloane finds the support and courage she needs to chase her biggest dreams—and face her deepest fears. Taking a cue from her middle daughter, Ansley takes her own leap of faith and realizes that, after all this time, she might finally be able to have it all.
Harvey’s signature warmth and wit make this a charming and poignant story of first loves, missed opportunities, and second chances that proves why she is the next major voice in Southern fiction” (Elin Hilderbrand, New York Times bestselling author). SaveSave
This post is going to get me in trouble. Big trouble. Because, while, at first glance, this looks like any gorgeous living room, this stunning space by Summer Thornton Design isn’t a home at all.
It’s a dental office!
And, you see, I was in charge of decorating my husband’s dental office. Honestly, I thought I did a pretty darn good job.
Well, I mean, I thought I did a good job until I saw this dental office, which, let’s face it, is the most insanely beautiful dental office of all time. Now I’m wondering if maybe I could have applied myself a little more.
Needless to say, it is giving me something to aspire to–though this might have to be my office space within the dental office. We can give hubby something a little more masculine.

“In “Slightly South of Simple,” Kristy once again shows herself to be an accomplished novelist. She possesses a genuine affinity for exploring the bonds between mothers and daughters, she conveys the emotional landscape of raising children with enormous finesse, and she creates thoroughly relatable characters who hook our hearts and hold them — cover to cover.
It is worth noting that Kristy Woodson Harvey is often described as a Southern voice, and indeed she is. But to leave it at that is to underestimate the power and nuance of her storytelling gift — her mastery of dialog to move plot forward, her insights into what makes women tick, and her wit. Rest assured that regardless of where you live or grew up, you will find yourself in Kristy’s writing. “Slightly South of Simple” will have you at turns teary, beaming, and nodding in recognition — as a daughter, a mother, a sister — cheering on her protagonists, Ansley and Caroline. “

Interior design photographer Brittany Ambridge certainly has an eye for capturing beautiful things. From the stills department of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix to her tenure at Domino, Ambridge’s knack for making the things beyond her lens shine is clear. One look at these perfectly depicted spaces, and we think you’ll agree!
