From “the next major voice in Southern fiction” (Elin Hilderbrand) and the bestselling author of the Peachtree Bluff series comes an odd couple tale of friendship that asks just how much our past choices define our happiness.
In her warmest, wittiest, and wisest novel yet, Kristy Woodson Harvey delivers a discerning portrait of modern womanhood through two vastly different lenses. Feels Like Falling is a beach bag essential for Harvey fans—and for a new generation of readers.
From internationally bestselling author and “rising star of Southern fiction” (Mary Alice Monroe, New York Times bestselling author) Kristy Woodson Harvey comes the third novel in her Peachtree Bluff series, in which a secret threatens the tight-knit bond between a trio of sisters and their mother.
With the man of her dreams back in her life and all three of her daughters happy, Ansley Murphy should be content. But she can’t help but feel like it’s all a little too good to be true.
Meanwhile, youngest daughter and actress Emerson, who is recently engaged and has just landed the role of a lifetime, seemingly has the world by the tail. Only, something she can’t quite put her finger on is worrying her—and it has nothing to do with her recent health scare.
When two new women arrive in Peachtree Bluff—one who has the potential to wreck Ansley’s happiness and one who could tear Emerson’s world apart—everything is put in perspective. And after secrets that were never meant to be told come to light, the powerful bond between the Murphy sisters and their mother comes crumbling down, testing their devotion to each other and forcing them to evaluate the meaning of family.
With Kristy Woodson Harvey’s signature charm, wit, and heart, The Southern Side of Paradise is another masterful Peachtree Bluff novel that proves she is a “Southern writer with staying power” (Booklist).
With the summer behind us and fall temperatures here, one thing is for sure: It’s porch sitting season!
You know we love outdoor spaces that are an extension of our indoor ones, and while summer entertaining outdoors can be so much fun, it’s really the fall when those perfect crips evenings beckon us outdoors.
With the days growing longer and the sun getting warmer, we are savoring every moment we have outside–especially after such a cold, harsh winter. We don’t know about you, but we’re focusing on keeping our yards blooming for summer right now. We love flowers and bright blooms and pretty colors intermixed, and when it comes to curb appeal, there is nothing quite like adding color to the garden. Check out a few of our favorite colorful gardens and gain a bit of inspiration of your own!
While I still love to celebrate my birthday for, well, the entire month, like any normal person, with dinners and wine with friends and trips and presents and too much cake, after a fun, fun, fun summer of lots of events and tons of guests and just the right amount of sun and salt and sand (because there’s never enough, is there?) I think what I’d like most for my birthday is to sit on my front porch.
It’s a pretty boring and simple request, but if there’s any time to reflect on your front porch, a birthday is the time to do it.
I insisted the cake on Friday and present opening on Saturday also take place outside because even though it’s hard for presents to get better, they actually are even better with a sunset in the background and a perfect summer breeze.
I love my porch very much, but it could certainly take some pointers from these gorgeous patios!
Chic yet comfortable,
And simple yet stylish,
These are the kinds of outdoor spaces that are made for summer memories.
So whether you’re catching up with friends or a good book, sipping coffee or cocktails, any time is a good time to savor summer on one of these fabulous patios.
Thanks so much for stopping by Design Chic today. We always love seeing you here!
