Good morning, chic readers! We are CELEBRATING today because, today, my fifth novel and the final book in my Peachtree Bluff Trilogy, The Southern Side of Paradise, releases!
After more than a year of writing, editing, promoting and, yes, picking the cover, it is so exciting to see the book come to life out in the world.
As you might imagine, I am a very visual person, so covers mean a lot to me.
I am so fortunate that my cover designer at Simon & Schuster is a genius–and came up with more than a dozen too-gorgeous-to-be-believed covers for me to choose from. I had the hardest time deciding which one fit the story best!
Ultimately, it came down to something pretty simple: the yellow. The cover I chose has a yellow hat and a yellow title, and, I don’t know about you, but I am loving yellow lately.
That yellow is combined with the perfect hot pink…
And the most serene water blue…
I sent this Gray Malin photo for cover inspiration. Water, sand, vibrant hues. It just feels like summertime, doesn’t it?
Like this. I wanted a cover that would make my readers feel like this.
And these are the bright, bold hues to do it.
I think they nailed it, don’t you? If these aren’t the colors of paradise, then I don’t know what are. I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all your support of my books, The Peachtree Bluff Series and, of course, Design Chic! Mom and I love being here with you every day, and we can’t thank you enough for spending a few minutes of your day with us for NINE YEARS!
If you are looking for a Mother’s Day gift or your next beach read, I’d love it if you’d check out The Southern Side of Paradise! It is available from your local bookstore and wherever books are sold, including:
No surprise here: The outside is as stunning as the inside. We don’t know about you, but we think Jenkins Interiors has outdone themselves in this Dallas home. And it rumors are to be believed, outdoing yourself over and over again is what Texas is all about.
Thanks so much for making Design Chic a part of you day. We always love it when you stop by!

Nothing is too stuffy or overdone, yet it all feels perfectly pulled together, in-place and utterly serene.
Alyssa, the design mind behind the company Coco & Jack is known for her ability to combine the right details to make a house a home. Her family spaces are absolutely luxurious while maintaining a casual feel where everyone can relax…
But, if we’re honest, it’s the children’s rooms that are our very favorites! An absolutely charming space for a little girl to play, dream and invite her best friends to spend the night…
It’s all in the details, really. These bunnies couldn’t be cuter–and are very appropriate for our impending Easter season!
A sweet console between the beds provides plenty of storage for playthings.
And we’re having closet envy! With plenty of space for her prettiest things, this closet is swoon-worthy!
We love how every detail–down to the heat vent–is taken into account here.
A fun and comfy nook transforms into the perfect space for a little boy.
And the simple addition of chalk paint leaves plenty of space to let his imagination run wild.
We love the wide-plank hardwood floors–and that Mr. Bear is tucked in nice and tight! What’s your favorite space in this stunning, serene home? We don’t think we could pick a favorite!
Thanks so much for making Design Chic a part of your day. We always love it when you stop by!

“My prediction is that writers come and writers go, but Kristy Woodson Harvey is here to stay. The warmth, wit, and wisdom of this novel pave her way into the exclusive sisterhood of southern writers.” (―The Huffington Post)
