We didn’t think the Blue Ridge mountains could get any more gorgeous, but it has happened. Atlanta architect D. Stanley Dixon and interior designer Heather Dewberry have made even more magic in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. We know. We’re really excited too! From the wood elements to the color palette it’s utter perfection at every turn. We hope you enjoy as much as we do!

When it gets a little cooler, like it is now, that’s when we start to imagine ourselves in a cozy hunting lodge by the lake. Bonfires, oyster roasts and s’mores dance through our heads–and, of course, an interior with lots and lots of wood. We are loving this gorgeous example of a hunting cabin–and we think you will too!
Wishing you a wonderful Monday!
Congrats to our wonderful friend and fellow blogger, Shirley from Housepitality Designs. She won the Arhaus pillows and $200 gift card!
This canopy bed is so elegant. This bedroom feels like a getaway!
This gallery wall proves that it’s completely possible to do coastal without getting kitschy.
On vacation or just an ordinary day, this tub would feel like a vacation any time!
Because bathroom storage is always at a premium, we’re loving how these baskets not only take advantage of extra space but also add texture.
A settee at the end of a bed is so sweet. And there’s enough seating to have a party in this room!
Florida should be fun! And this porch knows it. The blue and white tiles add a touch of whimsy.
A pretty pool and lush landscaping lend a view worth coming back to.
From the kitchen to the bedrooms to the patio, blue and white porcelain is a unifying theme of this beautiful Naples getaway. If this beautiful coastal getaway doesn’t have you Spring dreaming, we don’t know what would! Where’s your favorite spring vacation spot?

Good morning, chic readers! Birmingham, Alabama is one of our favorite southern cities, and this Birmingham House by architect James F. Carter gives us one more reason to add to the list of reasons we love this southern enclave.
With all the modern amenities of a brand new house,
But the stately details that overflow with old southern charm.
Can you get any more classic than those black and white floors?
Those stairwell areas are always hard to decorate. How many pictures do you need? How do you space a gallery wall? This bookshelf idea is totally genius!
Speaking of bookshelves and Alabama (and speaking of speaking…) I have the privilege of speaking at Hoover, Alabama’s Southern Voices, which is most certainly a bucket-list item of mine, Saturday, February 25.
It will be such a privilege to present alongside some of my personal favorite authors, Rebecca Wells (the Ya-Ya Sisterhood), Chris Bohjalian, Julie Cantrell, Mary Kubica and Karen White, along with a few that I am so excited to get to know. If you’re in the area, come see us!
I am going to go out on a limb and say that I think these homeowners might just be avid readers.
Bookshelves in every room are the kind of statement we like to make!
This paneling is just exquisite. It’s hard to believe that this is a new house!
Navy and brass is a classic color combination that we can’t get enough of.
It is perfection in the kitchen, the perfect shade to feel deep but not heavy.
We think one of the major characteristics that separates the old from the new is hardware. This lock makes the door look like it has been there forever!
Sloping rooflines add such character.
Did we mention charm? Oh, the charm!
What a perfect little nook for working–or daydreaming.
Classic details, beautifully implemented, are always in style. We think it’s safe to say that James Carter has gorgeously good taste.
