- Occasional seating is always a must! If you have space–even a little extra corner–occasional seating can be a total game changer for hosting guests. A spot for them to watch TV, chat on the phone, or just rest is always welcome.
2. Upgrade the lighting for an instant mood boost! If there’s anything cozier than climbing into a cozy bed with a good book and flipping on the perfect sconce for lighting our little corner of the world, we don’t know what it is! 3. Our tip-top guest room favorite? A desk! Between the beds, in a corner, below a TV… We love giving our guests a little extra space for working, planning, or sending those last-minute holiday cards.
4. A chaise lounge gives the bedroom a beautiful finished look. And it’s a perfect spot for tote bags, suitcases or guests to relax with their favorite book. Bonus points for that view!

6. Maybe this goes without saying but… The coziest bedding is an absolute must! Once or twice a year, we take a little sojourn into our guest bedrooms to make sure the pillows are fluffy, the bedding is luxe, and our spare room is an overall soothing experience. Plus, it’s a fun little getaway for us, too! Who couldn’t use a staycation this time of year?

7. The right accessories are the perfect finishing touch! A bedside clock, a charming vase, a sweet ottoman a delicious candle... Nothing makes your guests feel more pampered than realizing you took the time to think of every last little detail when appointing a space for them. We’re big fans of beautiful welcome baskets with basics like towels, toothbrushes, and toiletries to make any guest feel right at home.
