There’s a reason we don’t have a bunch of pictures of our own houses on our blog. We’re terrible photographers! No doubt about it, photographing is a real art, and photographing homes is a style all its own. The most fabulous home can look below par in the hands of an amateur photographer. That’s why we are so enamored of the photography of the very talented Eric Piasecki. From the kitchen to the office to the dining room, Piasecki makes every paint color, wood floor and piece of hardware shine under the right light. We hope you love this photographer’s good taste as much as we do!
After our little marble mishap during the One Room Challenge, we must have marble on the brain this week! One of our favorite staples for making a kitchen sparkle and a bathroom shine, marble pairs fabulously from everything from wood floors to tile, and goes perfectly with every color.
Happy Wednesday, friends! And welcome to week three of the One Room Challenge, started by Linda of Calling itHome! We realized that last week we forgot to show you the brand new, sparkling clean ceilings of our kitchen renovation. Aren’t they pretty?
This week, our molding and window molding are in place, and we’re testing baseboards! What do you think?
Hold onto your hats, one room challengers! We are so excited to be participating in our first ever One Room Challenge, hosted by the fabulous, lovely and amazing Linda from Calling it Home. Thanks so much for having us, Linda! You may need to shield your eyes on the next couple of photos. Because redoing this kitchen is going to be a bit of a project, to say the least…
Basically no natural light, five layers of linoleum tile, crumbling plywood cabinets and faux-wood paneling… It’s really hard to choose a favorite thing about this “before” kitchen.
Kitchen stools are honestly one of our favorite parts of the kitchen. Don’t get us wrong, we love having the family together around a big table. But we know for sure that that doesn’t always happen in our houses. (Well, at least not at breakfast…)
So it just makes sense for everyone to have a place to congregate and eat during the rush of morning breakfast and coffee and forgotten homework and searching for that thing you were supposed to take to work but you just can’t exactly remember what it is…
Anyway, all of that just can’t happen around a dining room table.
So, we would venture to say that kitchen stools really help keep families together!
Did you know that we love organization? Did the fact that we post about it all the time give it away…? It goes without saying that the spaces we post are incredible and over-the-top and gorgeous. But, in addition to all of that, they’re so sparkling and clean and organized!
We don’t know about you, but we’re needing a little spring cleaning inspiration! And I need a reminder of how much I adore those beautiful, full, straight jars… not a package or box or piece of junk in the bunch!
We don’t know about you, but whenever we start thinking about kitchen decorating ideas, it’s those kitchen cabinets that are always at the forefront of our mind.
Maybe it’s because cabinets take up the majority of the square footage of the kitchen, but we think they are on of the elements that, if not implemented properly can really ruin the look of a beautiful remodel.
