House Tour: Oak Hill, Tennessee Colonial Revival

I was a part of something kind of fun and different yesterday: a “Millennials in America” panel.

Usually, I’m talking about my books or tips from my favorite famous designers about how to spruce your small space or something, so this was definitely different.

I was a natural choice, those, because, being a blogger and writer who loves kombucha and organic matcha lattes, I fit the stereotype pretty well.

It was actually fascinating to get a glimpse into the differences between the generations and to hear where we’ve come from and where we’re (probably) going.

Which is all to say that things change.

Styles change. People change. And houses? Houses change too.

Especially at the hands of singer-song writer and entrepreneur, Holly Williams, daughter of Hank Williams, who has rehabbed 7 houses in 10 years.

She also has three children (3, 2 and 1) and owns not one but five stores.

I know what you’re thinking: Yes, you are an underachiever, and so am I.

And does she even have time to use that bathtub? And, if so, how?

All we know is that Holly Williams has super powers, one of them being that she hits this perfect note of style plus comfort plus homeyness plus chic Southern charm.

And that’s a combination that, no matter your generation, is positively timeless.

Thanks so much for making Design Chic a part of your day! We always love seeing you here!
