House Tour: Greensboro Charming Oasis

Happy Wednesday, chic friends! We love Wednesdays for a lot of reasons, one of them being that we get to tour a gorgeous home. The only thing better than a house tour is a house tour of a home of a someone we know! I recently had the pleasure of writing an article about my fabulous cousin Catherine Adcox and her beautiful family that appeared in O’Henry Magazine’s Annual Home & Garden Issue. 

Catherine and her husband John are the duo behind Sourcc Design, a rapidly expanding business that helps those who want to decorate their own homes source designer furniture and accessories at below-retail prices, while providing design boards and scaled models free of charge. It’s a totally brilliant concept that has already spread to thirteen cities.

Here’s a quick sneak peek to whet your appetite:

The house that Catherine and John Adcox share in Irving Park looks like something out of a storybook. With a white brick exterior, pale blue-gray shutters, a manicured garden and an idyllic picket fence, it is, in a word, charming. It’s the kind of place that you know people are lined up for, just waiting for it to go on the market.

Only, the Adcoxes weren’t among those waiting. They’d already contracted to buy the house next door, planning to undertake a complete renovation once their house down the street sold.

And yet, when the home belonging to Bradshaw Orrell and Douglas Freeman, both celebrated members of the interior design and art worlds, came up for sale, they did the most dangerous thing two people who are not intending to buy a house can do: They decided to “just look.”

 I probably don’t need to tell you what happened next. John says, “We knew it was perfect as soon as we walked inside.”

Did I mention that their beautiful home made the cover?

I know. But it’s easy to see why, right?
