Oh, oh, oh, how we love having guest posts from our favorite bloggers on Fridays! Aren’t they simply wonderful? Today, you are in for another treat… A musing from our talented, amazing, fabulous, always stylish friend Tina from the The Enchanted Home. We feel a special kinship with Tina because we started our blogs about the same time, and it has been so fun to see what amazing heights hers has risen to at her skilled hand. She is truly a tastemaker, and blue and white is her signature color! Colors? Well, we think when a combination is this timeless it simply must go together. We think our friend Tina would agree!

Hi there, so happy to be over at one of my favorite blogs on all things beautiful, Design Chic. Today I am here as a guest to talk about a color or two and it might not be much of a surprise to most of you that I have chosen to talk about my favorite color combination in the entire world…..blue and white🙂

I live eat and breath it and just can’t imagine my life and home without it!

MORE ABOUT THE SUMMER OF SONGBIRDS

Four women come together to save the summer camp that changed their lives and rediscover themselves in the process in this heartwarming new novel from the New York Times bestselling author of The Wedding Veil

Nearly thirty years ago, in the wake of a personal tragedy, June Moore bought Camp Holly Springs and turned it into a thriving summer haven for girls. But now, June is in danger of losing the place she has sacrificed everything for—and begins to realize how much she has used the camp to avoid facing difficulties in her life.

June’s niece, Daphne, met her two best friends, Lanier Bradley and Mary Stuart Harris, during a fateful summer at camp, and the three are inseparable even in their thirties. But when attorney Daphne discovers that Lanier’s fiancé—who just so happens to be her client—has done something highly illegal, she must choose between her job and her friendship.

Meanwhile, Lanier is hiding secrets both new and old that might make Daphne see the situation in an entirely different light. When one of those secrets unexpectedly rises to the surface, it threatens to change the very fabric of their friendship.

But when the women learn that their childhood oasis is in danger of closing, they put aside their own problems and band together with June to save it, sending them on a journey that promises to open the next chapters in their lives.

From an author whose “writing coats your soul with heart” (E! Online), The Summer of Songbirds is a lyrical and unforgettable celebration of female friendship, and a love letter to the places and people that make us who we are.

I would put it on my credenza, in front of a large octagon mirror and fill it with white orchids – a beautiful welcome to our new (actually old – 1930’s) home! I found Tina’s website two weeks ago and start every morning with a great cup of coffee and The Enchanted Home blog. What a terrific way to welcome myself back into the world! Now that I have been introduced to your blog, I will incorporate it into my morning ritual too! So much fun!

I particularly like the lines of the octagonal cherry blossom jar. The pattern is delicate and lends itself to a traditional interior.
