This post comes with a warning: You are going to want to go on vacation stat when you see it.
But, well, we suppose that’s what Marshall Watson Interiors had in mind when designing this gorgeous Bahamas home.
Even in the photos, we can tell that it’s one of those places you walk in and instantly feel relaxed and free.
And that’s how the Bahamas should be, right?
Um, is that a secret sliding bookcase? We NEED one of those! Doesn’t everyone, really?
And this color palette… It’s too good!
The sophisticated yet relaxed furnishings lend that Bahamian air feel in total sophistication.
Exposed wood ceilings make everything feel relaxed and just the tiniest bit rustic.
Vacation homes shouldn’t take themselves too seriously. This charming bedroom is case and point!
Under the sea, by the sea!
A mix of prints and patterns brings this bedroom to life.
We love, love wide stripes. Do you? We think they add instant style!
But, as much as we love the interior of this home, we have to say that this exterior is our favorite!

The pool… The chaises… The lushness all around… Who wouldn’t want to spend Spring Break lounging on this perfectly orchestrated porch? We know we would!
If you love Marshall Watson as much as we do, you must, must check out his new book, The Art of Elegance: Classic Interiors. Our copy just arrived, and it is fabulous!
And speaking of books… Slightly South of Simple launches in less than three weeks! The lovely Katie Clooney at Preppy Empty Nester included it in her April Books, TV & Movies. She said, “I just finished it, and in a few words, I loved this book.” Thank you, Katie!
Good Morning Girls,
Love Marshall Walton’s designs. The Bahama “retreat” is fantastic.
The bookcase hidden door is the best.

Sumptuously gorgeous home! I absolutely adore the silver swirl design lamp in the bedroom with the coral and white striped drapes and the book “Pioneer Girl” on the dresser with the lamp. Will you please provide information as to where it may be purchased. Thanks SO much!
Gorgeous home!…Love the beautiful colors throughout and yes, love those wide stripes too!
Absolutely gorgeous home and perfect for an island retreat. I’m assuming I know about where it is as the map gave me a clue. We had two homes in the out-islands for many years in this same general area and if it’s where I think it is, that makes it even more perfect. Someone is every fortunate to have such a jewel in a laid-back, relaxing and beautiful part of the world.

I have loved MW since he gave a “talk” about decorating many years ago at our JR League meeting in Summit.
This is a wonderful house, but l especially love the hanging wooden sea turtle above the game table.
His fun touches make the house a place that you want to take time to explore and stay forever!
I’m in love! Guess Mr. Coffee is going to have to share! lol
