Shorter days, cooler nights…
It’s official: Fall is here.
We’re true lovers of warm weather (and, well, it’s still pretty warm here!) but when Thanksgiving rolls around there’s something nice about a little nip in the air and a crispness all around us.
And what better way to savor this glorious season than at home in a country house?
It’s the perfect place for gathering around the table with family and friends to celebrate the holidays. And, if your friends include a miniature horse, why not have him too?
We are big fans of rustic charm–
And the slower-paced lifestyle that country living requires.
All that cooking at home necessitates a fabulous kitchen, right?
If the food you’re cooking was grown right on your own farm, so much the better!
We’re in love with every special detail of this gorgeous retreat.
And we think this powder room might be one of our very favorite spaces!
A cozy bedroom with lots of layers and a sense of history complements the decor so perfectly–and is the kind of place we could fall right to sleep.
We’d love to spend evenings curled up with a blanket and a cocktail right here…
After a long day of riding…
And a morning of making breakfast with eggs collected right here! What about you? Would you be at home in the country?
Thanks so much for making Design Chic a part of your day. We always love seeing you here!

I am in love with the stained wood, it looks so new and fresh after years of white paint on everything. Thanks for sharing.
Good Morning Girls,
A perfect country home, down to the horse in the dining room!!!
