Good morning, friends! We hope you had a terrific long weekend, filled with fun and relaxation.

We are in the mood to pare down today, clear the clutter, and we have a feeling that, after seeing this perfectly tailored lake house from Jean Stoffer, you will be too!

This designer is spot on at creating looks perfect for the families inside of them, and we were impressed right off the bat with the range of her looks–and the elegance that ties them all together.

Talk about a clean slate! Walking into this kitchen every morning would make us ready to take on anything. Aren’t those bar stools amazing?

We love the furniture-esque feel of all of the components of this kitchen. It’s a little eclectic and so very homey.

One of our favorite things about Jean Stoffer?

Her lighting choices are so spot on! And, if you’re like us, you think the lighting can take a space over the top.

The built-ins in this closet are perfect for keeping everything stored and organized.

Imagine the secrets shared here!

A functional laundry room is essential in any home, but making it pretty is a definite bonus. We love the brick herringbone floors and beautiful artwork.

Unexpected elements like this patterned rug and dark paint make the mudroom feel lively and refreshed.

We hope you have an amazing beginning to this week! Thank you so much for making Design Chic a part of it!

More About SUMMER STATE OF MIND:
“Queen of the beach read,” (Cosmopolitan) New York Times bestselling author Kristy Woodson Harvey returns with a heartfelt escape to coastal Carolina.
After the worst day in her professional life, burnt-out NICU nurse Daisy Stevens runs to Cape Carolina, North Carolina, looking for a new life—and possibly new romance. On her first day at her “simpler” job, high school baseball coach Mason Thaysden discovers an abandoned baby, sending ripples through the entire tight-knit town of Cape Carolina.
Mason is still struggling to reconcile the scars of the injury that kept him out of the big leagues, stuck in his hometown, and searching for a way out. This newcomer and the child they’ve saved together might be just the motivation he needs to stay put. Sparks fly as Mason acquaints Daisy with Cape Carolina, introducing her to his friends and family, including his batty Aunt Tilley, who is looking for relief from long-buried family secrets and her own fresh start.
But as Daisy becomes increasingly attached to this abandoned child, and begins facing her own demons in the process, a startling discovery is made that threatens to rip the entire town of Cape Carolina apart, placing Daisy, Mason, and Tilley in the center of the storm. In a novel that proves that “Kristy Woodson Harvey is (the) go-to for elevated beach reads” (People), they will each learn that with love, understanding—and a community theater production of Hello, Dolly!—sometimes life conspires to bring us just exactly where we belong.
Beautiful! I am loving those bar stools!
Enjoy your week!

Hope you both had a fantastic weekend.
Jean Stoffer has a marvelous approach. Love the clean, uncluttered kitchen. The tiles in the bathroom are awesome, and so is the wall paper is beautiful!

YES, Jean Stoffer is spot on for her clean, sleek styling. I do love it. Do you happen to know the manufacturer of the 3 brass library lamps? I call them the “Grasshopper” and I love them. I am using them in my kitchen, library hall and great room.
I love the side sconces over the desk. You are right. She makes great lighting selections!
I love her kitchens where she mixes a dark stained piece in with all the white cabinetry. Beautiful tile work in the bathrooms too!

I love so many of the details of these kitchens, but especially the kitchens where the built ins look like an extra piece of furniture.
Have a great week.

So many beautiful kitchens! I love the bar stools in the first photo. Have a wonderful week.
There is something I liked in each picture but I love the flooring in the last one! It is a short week and I’m still working on catching up with the idea that today is Tuesday not Monday!
In love with all these spaces!
