So when this esteemed panel of judges named Karen Ferguson, director of interior design for Harrison Design, the 2019 Southeast Residential Designer of the Year, we were so excited to shout her news from the rooftops!

This stunning Atlanta home was instrumental in earning Ferguson her latest accolade.

A soothing color palette transforms a master bedroom into a tranquil retreat.

Rich walnut floors and an oversized Louis XV mirror create continuity between the master bathroom and bedroom.

Large slabs of Carrara marble mixed with intricate palisandro bluette detailing complement the Roman motifs in the his and hers shower.

Williams also noted Ferguson’s “ability to handle both a modern sensibility and more traditional vibe with a clear sense of proportion and scale.” To us, this is one of the most difficult acheivements in design, simply because it’s easiest to master the style that is your favorite.

Mixing styles and bouncing back and forth between them can prove challenging for even the most skilled designers. But, as this home proves, not for Harrison. We can’t wait to see what the Southeast Residential Designer of the Year does next!
