For years, I have resisted a rug in the kitchen.
I worried about crumbs and slipping and it just seemed like too much trouble.
But, then, I was looking at so many amazing kitchens, and I got rug-in-the-kitchen curious.
We got this gorgeous runner from our fabulous friends at Serena & Lily and, y’all, it was love at first sight. Looking back, the kitchen was just so empty, before. Now it looks so finished and complete. For a little splash of color,
A hint of an antique feel, or just a bit of cushion beneath your feet,
Nothing beats beautiful kitchen runners.
We love the way it grounds this space,
The way the depth of color creates the right look and feel,
And adds texture to interest to an all-white kitchen.
There’s something about just that little touch that makes the heart of the home feel so much cozier.
Are you a fan of runners in the kitchen?

Good Morning Girls,
I am on the side of no runners. I realize the advantages, adding color, texture and comfort, but I find they make the kitchen look cluttered and they get in the way when cleaning the floor, and then you have to clean the fug.
The days are slipping away and it will be soon for your new book to be released.

Love a rug in the kitchen. Remember if it is wool and gets dirty, take it outside and put a little detergent on it and hose it down. Remember it’s from sheep and they live outside. It won’t hurt the rug.
I found an old oriental rug in a deserted home I purchased and put it in my kitchen. Washed it first and down it went. So chic!!!!!!!!
Great inspiration! I have a small rug in front of my sink but I’ve been “auditioning” a couple runners lately. So far, none have passed the test from my boys who have suddenly become very opinionated on the subject! Wish me luck!
